How Trump thinks "democracy" works

If you want to know the heart of Donald Trump,
listen to the phone call he made to the Georgia Secretary of State.
President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that election experts said raised legal questions.
The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”
Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.
Trump dismissed their arguments.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” he said. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”
Raffensperger responded: “Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong.”
At another point, Trump said: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”
The number of votes the President received is recalculated, based upon votes that Raffensperger "finds". That is what democracy means to Donald Trump.

Trump doesn't think. He reacts. And when he reacts, he reacts the way any malignant narcissist would react. He corners the person and levels threats at them. The final discard will come soon enough if it hasn't come already.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” he said. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”
I'm am angry. And there's nothing wrong with you lying for me.
Raffensperger responded: “Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong.”
I can't do that. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to lie about the election outcome in my state because it's not true, you lost and now you're in narcissistic-meltdown- crazy-crazy because you can't handle the truth. Sorry about that, Bro.
At another point, Trump said: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”
So look. All I want to do is this. I want you to fabricate a lie that I got more votes. Because that's how damn desperate I am to avoid the fact that I lost. I can't be a loser. I can never be a loser. Daddy said so. I have to win! I'm so desperate, I'm going to threaten the crap out of you to make you to do what I want because I HAVE TO WIN! We won and we won BIG and you're going to make it happen or else!

Oh sweet lord, listen to him trying to gaslight the crap out of Raffensperger. Straight from the Narc play book! Schmooze him, gaslight him, threaten him.

Wait for the discard. Just wait.

Yanno...when I was discussing a true crime on the previous board with someone, I mentioned how fascinated I was by the way narcissists think they have the whole crime whipped and make stupid mistakes that are their ultimate undoing. Patrick Frazee, for example, had part of his crime cover up plan arranged with former girlfriend Krystal Lee Kenney when he had her take his victim's cell phone and fake call and text his phone from CO to ID. And prior to giving the cell to KK, he did the same thing between his own cell phone and his victim's. Sounded great. A kind of paper trail of interactions set up to make it look like there was no way he killed Kelsey Berreth. Those cell phones were his alibi.
Except for one thing.
He didn't factor in the fact that the cell phones tracked his location throughout the aftermath and cover up of the crime and that security cameras snapped his photos at every location he went to in town...time stamp included.
Look at what Trump is doing. He's acting like tough guy, mafia don. Scamming his followers out of $$ by stringing them along by leading them to believe something "big" is always about to happen. The something "big" that never happens. Lawsuit after lawsuit attempt that
actually made him lose twice in every swing state where Biden won.
And there he is behind the scenes at the eleventh hour alternately gas lighting, schmoozing, threatening another member of the GOP and...
he doesn't realize how weak and desperate it makes him look.
The awareness just isn't there. No nuance in his thinking. No insight. No self awareness nor awareness of others.
SAD!
The very best thing anyone could do would be to take his oxygen away. But the media won't do that, of course.

I don't see how even ajax or subby can deny that this latest attempt by Trump is a blatant criminal act deserving of both heavy fine and imprisonment. Yet I have little doubt at least one of them will try to justify even this, or pass it off as no big deal. I can hardly wait to see how they will attempt to gloss this over. It will probably provide me the biggest laugh I have had this week, so far. The only way they can retain or gain any respect or credibility is to admit that Trump seriously disgraced himself by violating both the law and his oath of office.

In the fairy tale
The Emperor's New Clothes, the Emperor is seduced by weavers who tell him they make a cloth so fine stupid people and ignorant people cannot see it. Trump's arguments are like that cloth, except only true believers can see it.

This guy. is. slap. out of. his mind.
The quotes in the articles do NOT do justice to this phone call. He's a raving loon. Pulled every trick out of his narcissist playbook. I would HATE to be in the room when this guy is rage yelling at staff.
Holee sheet.
