As Host Kara Swisher and Mehdi Hasan rightly pointed out, it would have been so much better if Trump had conveyed that message a week ago. It probably would have prevented his impeachment, though even without that insurrection there was already sufficient justification for impeaching him. That infamous call to the Georgia Secretary of State in an attempt to intimidate him into reversing Georgia's election results alone should have been sufficient ground for impeaching him. I suppose it is possible, though, that the rioting would have occurred anyway. There seems to be evidence of it having been at least partially planned in advance, days or maybe weeks before Trump's rally speech that supposedly incited it.

I wonder who wrote out that speech for him? It is for darn sure he didn't come up it himself!
