Boehner: Trump Incited Deadly Riot

Trump “incited that bloody insurrection for nothing more than selfish reasons, perpetuated by the BS he’d been shoveling since he lost a fair election the previous November.”
Boehner said it was "painful" for him to watch what unfolded at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and the incident "should have been a wake-up call for a return to Republican sanity.”

Was Boehner being overly optimistic when he spoke of Republican sanity? I have a hard time imagining Republicans ever returning to normal now that Trump has let the fascist genie out of the bottle.

I think the most recent fit of Republican sanity was long before he became speaker.

Trump's comment was to call Boehner a RINO. I guess most of the GOP was not really the GOP until Trump got involved.

Until he somehow succeeded in becoming the Republican nominee for President, after which many of his harshest Republican critics and detractors suddenly claimed to have become diehard supporters. Disgusting!
