Yeah, the cops released the bodycam footage late tonight,, and it appears the cop was actually trying to protect another black girl. Other reports on Twitter saying she was Autistic to some degree.

A 16-year-old Black girl was fatally shot by an officer outside of her home after she called the police for help on Tuesday afternoon, according to her family.
The girl has been identified as Ma’Khia Bryant by her aunt, Hazel Bryant.
Bryant allegedly called officers at about 4:30 p.m. local time when a group of “older kids” threatened her with assault, her aunt told Ohio Statehouse News Bureau Reporter Andy Chow.
She did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.
The Columbus Police Department could not say on Tuesday whether Bryant was the one to call for assistance before she was shot.

Objectivity and journalism — over the last century, these two words have become inextricably linked. But striving for objectivity has actually hindered us from adequately covering truth, giving context and achieving equity.
As educators, it is our role and responsibility to teach a journalistic approach based not on objectivity, but on seeking truth, providing context, and including voices and perspectives left behind by the adherence to objectivity.
At the dawn of the 20th century, as the scientific method emerged, journalists recognized that some sort of objective process might lead to stronger coverage of important stories, keep biases in check, help get to the truth and better inform the public.
Objectivity became the gold standard of news reporting, but the word “objective” came to be applied not to the process of newsgathering, but to journalists themselves. To convey objectivity, some journalists refrained from voting to keep from appearing biased. Many adopted the detached, safe tone originally developed by the Associated Press and other wire services to appear more neutral and thus marketable across news markets. And many began to seek sources from “both sides” of an issue, to illustrate that they were giving every side a voice (no matter how valid or how absurd).
The “facts” and “truth” that have generally been deemed objective are actually centered on a mainstream, white, male, able-bodied, cis-gendered perspective — not actually objective or neutral at all.
“The views and inclinations of whiteness are accepted as the objective neutral,” wrote Wes Lowery in a recent New York Times opinion piece. “Those selective truths have been calibrated to avoid offending the sensibilities of white readers.” The dangers of this, he wrote, are that ”instead of telling hard truths in this polarized environment, America’s newsrooms too often deprive their readers of plainly stated facts that could expose reporters to accusations of partiality or imbalance.”
When we teach our students how to do good journalism, it is incumbent upon us to challenge the idea of journalistic objectivity and point out how it manifests.
One example is climate change coverage. Instead of contextualizing that nearly 100% of climate scientists have reached consensus about the implications of climate change and humans’ role in its hastening, news outlets often give equal time to the 1-2% who disagree. Climate and other stories told in a detached tone remove urgency, which does not help contextualize or inform. Rather, it confuses, misleads and alienates audiences seeking to understand. [Poynter]
In other words, journalists today are encouraged to abandon any semblance of neutrality and objectivity to become partisan hacks.
If you’ll recall, retired St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn was shot dead by BLM looters and rioters in June of last year.
The Regime Media endlessly proclaimed that last year’s Black Lives Matter riots were “peaceful.” This year, they crushed the public’s cognition into believing that MAGA protesters on 1/6 were a “deadly mob” causing “fatal violence.” After the Officer Brian Sicknick autopsy report revealed that he died of natural causes and was not killed by Trump supporters, we now know MAGA protesters inflicted zero deaths at all on that fateful day. Instead, one Trump supporter, a woman named Ashli Babbitt, was gunned down despite being unarmed.
In today’s day and age, the fact that a credentialed journalist reports something should create a presumptive opinion in your mind that it’s not true. If you see CBS, CNN, NBC, ABC, NYT, Washington Post, or any of the others tell you it’s raining outside, it’s safe to assume it’s 70 and sunny until you stick your head out the window yourself, or see it confirmed by some online social media account that doesn’t carry a blue checkmark.
These are all necessary and important conclusions, but there is yet still a deeper level of analysis to uncover here.
Before President Donald Trump challenged the Washington Consensus, the fact that intelligence agencies and foreign policy stakeholders basically run the media didn’t matter much in terms of day-to-day news coverage.
But now, BLM can openly threaten jurors, shut down highways, throw pigs heads and animal blood at testifying witnesses, and hold the entire nation hostage as terrified citizens brace for a possible “not guilty” verdict.
Last night, Fox News’s Greg Gutfeld sarcastically expressed the cuckolded GOP’s libidinal fear of the mob out loud. Gutfeld facetiously noted that he was happy with the Chauvin verdict, even if Chauvin wasn’t guilty, because now his neighborhood won’t be burned to the ground by thugs.
Everyone knows that BLM’s anarcho-tyranny is now enshrined as above the law.
The question is, why are intelligence agencies from the old Washington Consensus foreign policy blob protecting them?

NPR’s headline was “Columbus Police Shoot And Kill Black, Teenage Girl.”
The word “knife” does not appear until paragraph eight. NPR only frames the assailant, 16 year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, as “holding” a knife, rather than charging at another teen with the lethal weapon.
A 16-year-old Black girl was fatally shot by an officer outside of her home after she called the police for help on Tuesday afternoon, according to her family.
The girl has been identified as Ma’Khia Bryant by her aunt, Hazel Bryant.
Bryant allegedly called officers at about 4:30 p.m. local time when a group of “older kids” threatened her with assault, her aunt told Ohio Statehouse News Bureau Reporter Andy Chow.
She did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.
The Columbus Police Department could not say on Tuesday whether Bryant was the one to call for assistance before she was shot.
Bryant was taken to a local hospital in critical condition where she later died.
At a Tuesday night press conference, the Columbus Police Department released an edited version of the body camera video worn by the officer who shot Bryant. Police have not yet made public the name of that officer.
Interim Chief of Police Michael Woods told reporters the officer will be pulled off of patrol duty as the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation looks into Tuesday’s shooting.
Columbus Police showed the video a second time in slow motion during Tuesday night’s news conference. Woods said the video shows Bryant holding a knife as she pushes two girls at the scene. He said police believe she is attempting to stab both girls during the fight.
You highlight in blue, "The word 'knife' does not appear until paragraph eight." Gee, each of the first seven paragraphs is only one or two sentences long, so paragraph eight is really sentence eleven. It's outrageous the writers should take a ten sentences to establish some background, right?
Your next highlighted sentence says, "NPR only frames the assailant, 16 year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, as 'holding' a knife, rather than charging at another teen with the lethal weapon." Really? The very next sentence of the NPR article says, "He said police believe she is attempting to stab both girls during the fight." How is "attempting to stab" not the same as charging with a weapon?
Do you even read what you post, or is the hurt and outrage about all the brownness around you clouding your vision so much that you can't quite make out the words?
I stopped reading at that point. I expect the rest is more of the same.
