Trump closes his ‘beacon of freedom’ website a month after launching it
Jason Miller, senior aide to former president, confirms closing of the ‘From the Desk of Donald J Trump’ online communication tool
Basically, nobody much read 'From the Desk of Donald J Trump.'.
It will take a long time before Trump voters get round to saying anything negative about him.
But now he is not President any more, he appears to be ceasing to be interesting. However will he manage to live with that?

Nah, nothing to be concerned about. He's too busy getting ready to move back into the White House when he's reinstated in August.

Hopefully, the apparent lack of public interest in his blog presages an eventual, though probably slow, return to some semblance of sanity amongst Republican voters in general, and maybe even the beginnings of growing apostasy from the ranks of die-hard Trumpists. I have to despairingly admit, though, the latter seems less likely other than by attrition through normal human mortality.

I've become convinced that most Trump supporters aren't really fans of his. He seems more like a simple (or simpleton) avatar for their many whiny grievances.

Trump seems to be falling into a state of obsession with the idea that somehow he can be reinstated as president - perhaps because he knows that is the only sure way of protecting himself from criminal charges now looming:
Trump has grown increasingly consumed with ballot audits as he pushes falsehood that election was stolen
Almost unanimously, the former president’s 2020 campaign advisers said they view his obsession with the last election as a waste of time, knowing that the law does not allow for Biden’s win to be overturned.
But Trump regularly moves the topic back to the election when advisers try to focus on other issues, according to three people who have spoken with him recently.
“Everyone is talking about Arizona,” he said to an adviser who tried to broach 2022 endorsements.
He brings up the topic at various events — even at nonprofit galas at his private Mar-a-Lago Club, where he made impromptu appearances this spring, they said.
Anyone who tells him that he lost, one adviser said, “is p------ into the wind.”
When advisers write speeches for him that do not refer to attempts to re-litigate the 2020 election, Trump ad-libs — riffing on states in granular detail.
In a Palm Beach speech to donors this spring, he ticked through each state and explained his false theories that the election was stolen from him, according to a recording of the event obtained by The Post. He even cited local election officials and specific counties in each state and their totals compared to the 2016 election.
For his appearance this weekend before the state Republican Party in North Carolina, advisers are writing a speech that focuses more on Biden and the former president’s policies, but they are bracing for Trump to go off on a tangent about the election.
“He’s going to spray friendly fire on other Republicans and settle scores under the auspices of endorsing people in Republican primaries for 2022,” said GOP donor Dan Eberhart, a onetime Trump backer who has been critical of his attacks on the election. “This back-to-the-future style is putting the Republican Party in a 2020 straitjacket, preventing it from learning from our 2020 losses and adapting to the most recent voter concerns.”

Chap your post instantly reminded me of a video I watched last night. Now, take this with a grain of salt, but I think it does have merit. Notice it is said that he's a flight risk. I totally believe that.
Just under 4 minutes.

I think that one of the worst things he did to our democracy was to reawaken and seemingly endorse the latent feelings of racial, religious, ethnic, etc. bigotry that still exist in too many of us, in order to profit by turning us against each other. He can deny that all he wants, but whether or not that was his intent, we know of a lot of right wing terrorists who felt emboldened and validated by Trump's rhetoric, and cited Trump as justification for their violence.

Yes, I saw that too. I suspect that were he not the recently deposed but still influential President he is, he might have been committed to a psychiatric hospital by now (if not to prison).

I am inclined to think that is a possibility.
Wonder where he might think of going, though, in such a case? Any serious suggestions?
