Mitt Romney has managed to make himself hated by the right and the left. He coouldn't win an election for dog catcher.

So, no answer to my question then?
Oh, so it's only Democrat billionaires who don't pay taxes at the same rate as normal working US citizens like ophthalmologists?
Trump, of course, is not a Democrat, and I doubt that he has been "bowing to the woks* mob and funding antiracism training from true raciapl grifters and profiteers like Ibram Kenadi". So surely we can assume that he is an example of a billionaire who pays his fair share of tax,
Remind me please: how much did Trump pay in Federal income taxes in the year he was elected and in his first year in office? I know it began with $75, but how many zeroes came after that?

Why would I care if Donald Trump paid taxes or used the same real estate laws to pay a lower percentage just like Bill DeBlasio or any other member of the 1%. Trump happens to be the only person in the one percent to use his wealth to fight to lower the taxes of people like me, not to mention stop wasting our tax dollars on foreign aid, welfare, costly nonglobal environmental regulations that won't change the outcome, and importing poverty and socialism from the third world.Chap wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:44 pmSo, no answer to my question then?

Thanks! Good to have it on the record that you are OK with very very rich people paying a lower tax rate than ophthalmologists.

You do realize that ajax is an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist, don't you? Perhaps the difference is not great, but you are surely aware that there is a difference.
One gets the impression that ajax thinks that anything that Trump does or manages to get away with, no matter how despicable, must be ok by definition if Trump manages to benefit from it somehow.Brack wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:25 amajax18 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 6:12 pmWhy would I care if Donald Trump paid taxes or used the same real estate laws to pay a lower percentage just like Bill DeBlasio or any other member of the 1%. Donald Trump wasn't that great of a president.
Trump debuts at 41st in C-SPAN presidential rankings
It's about the rights of working people. For welfare people Trump or any other Republican for that matter represents a very dangerous threat to their way of life. One gets the impression that ajax thinks that anything that Trump does or manages to get away with, no matter how despicable, must be ok by definition if Trump manages to benefit from it somehow.
That's not true, ajax. Unless you are not who you say you are. The Trump tax cuts were a gift for corporations and the wealthy while largely doing little for lower income Americans and likely costing middle income Americans whose wealth is largely in their home value.
Details! Har, har.honorentheos wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:12 pmTrump's policies were an economic nightmare that we will pay for for a generation.
I won't argue that there aren't plenty of terrible economic ideas being pushed by progressives, too. But it isn't a case where one party is good for the economy and the other bad. The details really, REALLY matter.
