I've been posting repeatedly about Cohen's remarks re: Trump Org inner dealings/operations (because he knows the org from the inside) and his predictions about corporate and individual charges, and posting links to videos that contain his comments. I don't think it really fits the thread where posted and since indictments appear to be on the horizon and predicted to be handed down as soon as the end of this week, I thought we could do with a watch thread on this.

Thus far there is no indication that Trump himself will be indicted.

(CNN)A Manhattan grand jury on Wednesday indicted the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, according to people familiar with the matter.

The charges, which people familiar with the matter told CNN earlier Wednesday are related to alleged tax crimes in connection with an array of perks and benefits awarded to employees, are expected to be unsealed Thursday. It was not immediately clear how many charges are in the indictments.
Though former President Donald Trump faced multiple federal and state prosecutorial inquiries during his administration, the district attorney's indictment would be the first to charge his namesake company with criminal conduct.

Trump himself isn't expected to be charged, his lawyer has said.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the expected charges.

Weisselberg is expected to turn himself into prosecutors Thursday morning, two sources with knowledge told CNN.

Yeah, not yet. The grand jury is seated until November. Trump is on tape claiming that he used the tax laws to his advantage and brilliantly so. Let's see what goes down between now and then.

They couldn't get Weisselberg to flip on Trump which is the only reason he'snot being indicted as an individual. But destroying his business as a consolation prize is nothing to sneeze at.

One of the main purposes of forming an LLC is to shield oneself from all kinds of legal liability. Hence, it is very difficult to indict business owners no matter how obvious their crimes.

If anyone is interested, just search Michael Cohen on youtube. He has too many commentaries today for me to supply links. If someone really wants me to, I'll give it a go.

ETA: If I have got this right, Cohen is due for release this December. Would be serendipitous if Trump Org execs (including DJT and his kids) were jailed as he was being released.

Weisselberg is in legal trouble. Class 3 felonies carry a 15 year maximum sentence. No one expects Weisselberg to get that kind of sentence, a couple of years can look like a death sentence when you're 73 years old.

The unknown fork in the road is whether or not he flips. I can't imagine the pressure he is under from Trump, his attorney, and the city and state of New York. I actually think Weisselberg would spend time in jail for Trump. The biggest pressure point has to be his family.

I've been through the Mueller Report and 2 Impeachments, so what's the definition of insanity? Repeating the same behavior over and over and expecting a different result.

I'm having a George Costanza epiphany. From now on I'm going to do the opposite.

This is rather interesting re: Trump Org's crumbling business holdings. I had no idea that all of these properties had already gone down the tubes or are currently being challenged by locals on account of the insurrection. Sounds like the brand has already been hitting the skids and the indictment could possibly run it into the ground forever and all time. Coolio.

ETA: Trump's kids (sons) are flipping out in full public view. They seem to be oblivious to the fact that their comments support the indictment. Would link but I really don't care about them or their ineptness.
