So...he's got a Boeing 757 with a 3,000 mile range which would mean a refueling stop once he hopped over the pond or elsewhere if he were to make it to a country with no extradition agreement with the U. S. I have no idea where it's parked but he could make arrangements to put it anywhere he wanted to I am sure.

The thing is, is that to the best of my knowledge he cannot fly commercial or corporate until he is no longer President. So the whole thing would be tricky.

And again, they have GOT to know he's a flight risk so I tend to believe that some kind of action will be taken soon to make sure he cannot flee the country.

I saw this title when you first posted it, and it seemed lighthearted at the time. It means something far more serious now.

It was meant to be lighthearted — to poke fun at the last ditch political posturing over an election that was over except for the formalities. I didn’t expect rich real estate brokers who flew in on private jets to do the full on enraged mob thing.

I’m not sure he can be constitutionally prevented from leaving the country. Not unless some one has an indictment and arrest warrant ready to go at noon on the 20th.

I have a question about narcs. Would he be likely to fly halfway across the globe from his supply? Or would it be more likely that he would convince himself that he could evade the consequences of actions just like he’s been able to all his life?

That's just the thing. It could be either.

He could delude himself into thinking he can beat this like he has all his life. I think that one way he could do that is by formulating a plan to drag everything through the courts system which is a well entrenched behavioral pattern of his. That's what he does. You can view his depositions on youtube. It wouldn't take you less than a minute to understand how he handles himself but I think after observing him for the past 4 years, you already know what he does.

But if he's thinking his back is well and truly up against a wall, I think he would flee. Why? Because his family and his business would be his main source of supply at that point, he'd still have access to them and he might choose that route. But who knows? Would he be welcome in the AE? Indonesia? I honestly don't know what his standing is in those countries.

I lean more towards him deluding himself into thinking he can beat every single charge before him simply by ducking and dodging, evading, and filing a flood of some kind of counter suites. That's what he does. We saw that pattern play out after the election. He set it up long in advance, and pulled the trigger on the plan when he lost.

Giuliani and he were STILL trying to pursue it while the Capitol was under siege!

I wouldn't put it past him to drag out every single case until the very day that he dies.

What I was saying earlier though, is that I think he is truly dangerous right now. Something needs to happen to put him into protective custody be it via LE or a 5150 hold and actually they could do a 5150 in combination with invoking the 25th then after that plays out...I don't know what the means would be to hold him if he's being impeached. I don't know what his standing is while the impeachment process takes place. I also don't know if impeachment can be followed by criminal charges if he's convicted via impeachment.

But as sure as I'm sitting here, that rally was his last big suck of supply and that's why he did it. That's why he did the rally in GA---he didn't do that for the candidates. He did that for himself. He's an emotional vampire. He'll suck anything and anyone in front of him if he thinks it makes him feel powerful. And yes, I think playing hell with court cases would be another example of a narc getting supply.

He gets off on damned with people. But we can all see that.

This is a really complicated situation. We have no idea what will happen next, do we? Talk of impeachment, 25th Amendment, some folks who say do nothing at all and let him sit tight until the Inauguration but the problem with that is that he could cause several levels of hell before then. Something has GOT to give.

From what i read locally, NY is gunning for him. Pardons only cover federal charges, and the NY has a pile of state charges like you wouldn't believe. My guess is he's running from that.

I thought I heard someone say in an interview (don't ask me who, I've watched too many) that if he is impeached he could STILL face criminal charges with regard to the coup attempt at the Capitol with or without a pardon. Maybe RI can address this if there's a solid answer to that.

assuming Trump can pardon himself, can he do so while the impeachment process is going on?

If not, then won't it make sense for him to step down so Pence can pardon him?

Can he step down and avoid impeachment? Step down tomorrow, Pence Pardon's him, and now he can run again in 2024?

^^^if that's possible, it's a real dice roll to trust that Pence would go through with it.
