Missionary Numbers plummet
At the end of 2019 there were a reported 67,021 Missionaries.
The reported number for 2020 has now been posted on the Church's website and is stated as 54,000.

It appears that this number is the only one so far on that page updated with 2020 figures.

Luckily we're in the midst of the pandemic, so there is every reason available to excuse the low reading. Maybe we'll see it recover in a couple of years. Of course the numbers never recovered after the plummet following the surge, so who knows?

Looking at the website the church published, it looks like the surge was a ploy that didn't work. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.or ... statistics
The numbers have been going down ever since the surge happened.

Totally expected. There was supposed to be 100,000 by 2019 but that got interrupted by the pandemic, which came in 2020. And though, Holland stated the projections, Nelson was aware via revelation that the pandemic was coming, that's why he said do church stuff at home. Nelson likely did tell Holland that but Holland was going with what was projected not with revelation, which was to be kept secret. Plus they were still able to build temples during the pandemic which makes up for the low missionary count.Dr Exiled wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 4:56 pmLooking at the website the church published, it looks like the surge was a ploy that didn't work. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.or ... statistics

It all works out in the end.

Another comment,
Let's let it sink in that the missionary count is roughly half of what these prophets, seers, and revelators expected it to be right now. Really...what happened? How were they so off?

I wonder if a seer stone might help them out.... since obviously the seers themselves can't get spit accurate, nor even close to accurate.

To be fair, the pandemic and all of its unforeseen consequences has thrown a monkey wrench into just about everything, including missionary work. My guess is that it has had an impact on other churches and their outreach programs also.dastardly stem wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 6:38 pmAnother comment,

Wait a year or so and see if the numbers start picking back up again. I wouldn’t get wrapped up in contortions about it. Although it does give some of you folks something else to have a conniption fit about.

Exactly THE point MG, exactly the point. All kinds of world disasters these days are quite literally unforeseen by anyone.....anyone in any of the states in the United States. Any of them... including the seer state Utah. Utah not only has a blind seer, but blind public, just like the entire rest of the world.MG
