More poop pt. 2

Post by _Trevor »

Check this one out:

Quentin Cook was employed simultaneously as general counsel to the Healthcare District and as counsel to an existing corporation renamed MGH Corp. He created California Healthcare Systems (CHS) which owned Marin Health Systems (now Marin Community Health (MCH)), the entity that manages MGH Corp (56). Then Cook became CEO of CHS (57). In that role, he negotiated the 1995 Sutter/CHS merger. He became a Sutter Vice President, resigned in 1996, and became a missionary for the Mormon Church (58). His law firm remains counsel to MGH Corp.

"The covert purpose of the lease was to remove decision making from public oversight and review without vote of the district residents. Attorney Nancy McCarthy then wrote and the Calif legislature passed a law requiring that similar transfers of healthcare district assets need a vote of district residents "

"Professional staff who brought violations to the attention of the District and/or State regulators have been harassed, reprimanded, fired, transferred, and sued."

sounds like just the type of guy to deal with BYU professors that start to think for themselves.

Boyd K will love this guy!

Well, I guess he has had ten year to repent. Maybe his mission reformed him.

And the newest apostle is (drumroll).... QUENTIN L. CROOK!

Just kidding.

Buhrmann and Cook were then public employees. It is violation of California Government Code, Section 1090, for a public employee to make contracts that benefit himself. Both Buhrmann and Cook left public employment to join the private Marin General Hospital Corp. The lease, therefore, is illegal. Buhrmann and cook graciously supplied all the necessary evidence to make the district board's case solid.

Was this cooperation in lieu of prosecution?

Job opening: insiders only!!!

According to some RfM threads (ok, not the most reliable source), Eyring and Cook were buddies at Stanford, and both men are members of the Kimball clan.

So there you have it, folks. How mysterious are the ways of the Almighty God. Who would have figured that the Spirit would tap Eyring's college buddy and relative to take his recently vacated seat among the apostles.

I am astounded by the infinitesimal likelihood of it all.

I may have to haunt TribTalk for a while to see how the good citizens of Utah react to a shyster lawyer stepping up to GA level leadership in the church. I wonder if they did a background check on him?

Hospital CEO Henry J. Buhrmann and hospital lawyer Quentin Cook formed a MGH shell corporation, got all five directors to sign their 30-year lease, and then siphoned millions of dollars of public assets to the shell. The Sutter Health hospital chain acquired the lease in early 1996. Fortunately for California residents any lease similar to this one would now require voter approval.

Wow! How long will it be do you think before BYU grants Cook his honorary doctorate in Christian service for this act?
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Oh, I guess you are not aware of the fact that privatization is an unadulterated good for all. You see, it was good for the hospital to go into debt to the tune of 46 million dollars. It was also good that the quality of healthcare provided by the hospital hit its nadir under Cook's regime. I really don't see how you can criticize a man who siphons millions of public dollars into the coffers of a private corporation that makes him a vice-president in return.

You see, Joseph Smith taught that it was OK to aggrandize one's self as long as one was serving others. Cook was already half way to this true principle, and he wasn't even an apostle yet! Do you think he has learned the other half since then?
