How about chapter and verse for Bushman's quote -- come, on, cough it up; you're relying upon it (indirectly, through Mike Reed, and who is he? He's no authority.)

My statement was in the subjunctive, as we Latin students like to say, and thus it was conditional. It was most certainly not an unquestioning and complete acceptance of Mike's claim. Come on, Bob, you should exercise a little more care in your reading and your accusations.
So, you're not going to give me chapter and verse? How conditional is this:
Actually, I think it is more a case of me relying on the expertise of a man who is an eminent scholar of American history over your opinion.

Such pedantry.
“I was hooked from the start,” Snoop Dogg said. “We talked about the purpose of life, played Mousetrap, and ate brownies. The kids thought it was off the hook, for real.”

Since I never retracted the conditional nature of my first statement, it continues to be conditional. This is what many literate people call reading in context.

It's rather an important point in understanding the political thought of Edmund Burke and other early conservative theorists.
But it's no skin off my nose if understanding doesn't rank high among your personal priorities.
Do you have any other nuggets to share? I'm breathless with anticipation.

It has been established that FARMS/BYU threatened to withdraw financial support because they feared Quinn would say something negative about the LDS Church.
I take that to be the vaguely-articulated, but overarching, thesis of the thread.

Not to interrupt the festivities. Just askin'.
I'm sorry. Were you expecting an exchange with the apologists to end in a timely fashion?

Well, it took several pages to heft the merchandise into prominent display. I think we all felt better once our wares were on the table. Don't we all deserve a good night's rest following our labors?

You are participating in an internet discussion. I know this is supposed to be funny, but it is, at the same time, a very odd question to ask in this forum.

It's not that odd. Unfortunately, I'm really just not that funny. I'm like The Nehor meets...well, something less funny, I guess.
