Let's have a look see real quick:
1. to affect with perversion. 2. to lead astray morally. 3. to turn away from the right course. 4. to lead into mental error or false judgment. 5. to turn to an improper use; misapply. 6. to misconstrue or misinterpret, esp. deliberately; distort: to pervert someone's statement. 7. to bring to a less excellent state; vitiate; debase. 8. Pathology. to change to what is unnatural or abnormal. 9. to convert or persuade to a religious belief regarded as false or wrong. –noun 10. a person who practices sexual perversion. 11. Pathology. a person affected with perversion. 12. a person who has been perverted, esp. to a religious belief regarded as erroneous.
Yep, fits a lot of those.
Would the word deviant be less offensive?
I rather imagine there are some Christians who view Mormonism as a perversion of Christianity.. And yes many of those definitions would seem to work...esp #12

Okay, you can call me a pervert too if you use that religious definition. Fair is fair.

This is what it is all about folks.
Funny. People always talk about religion legislating morality and how bad it is.......and they turn around and legislate morality.

Then you understand how we feel when people try to make us sympathize with sexual perverts and we want to tell them where to shove their antisocial, unsupportable understanding of sexuality.
No, actually I don't, because:
- I'm not trying to make anyone sympathize with sexual perverts - Homosexuals actually do have a supportable understanding of sexuality; it's yours that has no empirical support - I'm not using some warped view of morality in an attempt to convince religious people they're wrong and interfere in their lives
I've generally been of the view that if people want to believe stupid things, that's fine, as long as they don't cause others harm in the process. This BS from religious folks actually does cause harm; it marginalizes and discriminates against a certain subset of the people with no evidence to back it up. When that happens, these religions deserve to get the "shove it up your ass" response.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
I really don't understand what the big deal is with gay marriage.
Why not let them have the same benefits as common law married boyfriend and girlfriend?
There are just as many if not more bad hetro marriages which involve immorality, abuse, etc..
Which is worse? boy+girl or boy+boy or girl+girl living together?
I see this as a loosing battle for the Church. I see my generation being much more accepting of it and we(my generation) will probably see the attitudes of the Church change during our life.
If being married to the opposite sex is important to you then why not just focus on that and leave the others alone?
... our church isn't true, but we have to keep up appearances so we don't get shunned by our friends and family, fired from our jobs, kicked out of our homes, ... Please don't tell on me. ~maklelan
