Your "obvious point" seems completely wrong when viewed in light of the real gay agenda. It sure seems that gay characters are put in TV shows for the precise purpose of eliminating the moral opprobrium that has traditionally attached to homosexual conduct.

And isn't it interesting that all of this comes on the heels of a deluge of 10 years of pornography. In the 90's it went from beign a dirty little secret to the cool thing to do. Nowadays kids in high school are watching it on their iphones on their lunch breaks with their friends.
Exposure to that much immoral material tears down a persons inhibitions and destroys their sense of right and wrong in regards to sexual behavior. In an unreligious household pop culture often is the meter social views are forged in, and sexual deviancy is now the norm.

There is evidence for androphilia genes but for gynophilia it is pure speculation at this point.
