This is what you get for spanking the monkey?:

Some religious denominations even teach that people who masturbate are in great danger of spending eternity in Hell under very some uncomfortable circumstances -- flogging, worms, intolerable heat and thirst, and darkness.

Also From This Web Site Page:

On the other hand, many sources of sexual information recommend masturbation for:

# Males because it lowers the rate of prostate cancer later in life,
# Females because it can relieve menstrual cramps, and
# Both male and females because it helps them to learn their body's sexual responses, helps them relax, and feels really good.

We have tried to be objective in our treatment of this issue, and to describe fairly all viewpoints.

This essay is dedicated to the past U.S. Surgeon General, Joycelyn Elders. When asked a question about sex education in public schools, she stated: "perhaps masturbation was something that should be taught." Within hours, she was asked to resign. Within days, she was gone from public service.

Wiki:

In 1994, she was invited to speak at a United Nations conference on AIDS. She was asked whether it would be appropriate to promote masturbation as a means of preventing young people from engaging in riskier forms of sexual activity, and she replied, "I think that it is part of human sexuality, and perhaps it should be taught." This remark caused great controversy and resulted in Elders losing the support of the White House. White House chief of staff Leon Panetta remarked, "There have been too many areas where the President does not agree with her views. This is just one too many."[1] Elders was fired by President Clinton as a result of the controversy in December of 1994.

Of course not. Masturbation = bad; adultery = good, in Clinton's world. Come to think of it, the same applies to the Brethren, since they support Joseph so diligently.

Ezra Taft Benson:

"From the beginning of time, the Lord has set a clear and unmistakable standard of sexual purity. It always has been, it is now, and it always will be the same. That standard is the law of chastity. It is the same for all—for men and women, for old and young, for rich and poor...Mormon taught the same thing to his son Moroni when he wrote that chastity and virtue are “most dear and precious above all things”

why me:

I remember a good friend of mine years ago went to the bishop to confess her sexual sins. The bishop replied that since she was a beautiful woman she would get hit on by many good looking men. The bishop understood the temptation and problem. No action was taken against her. Also, she was not that commited and somewhat inactive at the time. I think that this shows the local church can be very understanding of the human condition.

why me wrote:First of all, masturbation has a negative connotation. In the academic world we refer to it as 'solitary sex'. I think that this has a more positive connotation. When one masturbates, they are basically having sex with themselves in a solitary fashion. If one thinks deeply about this, one can see that it can perhaps be perfectly natural to have sex with yourself, especially if it is made into an erotic experience. Now, the word masturbation has a more x-rated connotation than solitary sex. Solitary sex is like watching a soft porn movie with a woman director but masturbation is more hardcore.

Thank you for your time and I hope that you all learned something from my post. :geek:

I will have to disagree with you here. Masturbation is the safest sex that is Practice. Here is some important information about masturbation, from one of the Web Site Pages, from WEBMD:

Your Guide to Masturbation

Masturbation is the self-stimulation of the genitals to achieve sexual arousal and pleasure, usually to the point of orgasm (sexual climax). It is commonly done by touching, stroking or massaging the penis or clitoris until an orgasm is achieved. Some women also use stimulation of the vagina to masturbate or use "sex toys," such as a vibrator.

Who Masturbates?
Just about everybody. Masturbation is a very common behavior, even among people who have sexual relations with a partner. In one national study, 95% of males and 89% of females reported that they have masturbated. Masturbation is the first sexual act experienced by most males and females. In young children, masturbation is a normal part of the growing child's exploration of his or her body. Most people continue to masturbate in adulthood, and many do so throughout their lives.

Why Do People Masturbate?
In addition to feeling good, masturbation is a good way of relieving the sexual tension that can build up over time, especially for people without partners or whose partners are not willing or available for sex. Masturbation also is a safe sexual alternative for people who wish to avoid pregnancy and the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. It also is necessary when a man must give a semen sample for infertility testing or for sperm donation. When sexual dysfunction is present in an adult, masturbation may be prescribed by a sex therapist to allow a person to experience an orgasm (often in women) or to delay its arrival (often in men).

Is Masturbation Normal?
While it once was regarded as a perversion and a sign of a mental problem, masturbation now is regarded as a normal, healthy sexual activity that is pleasant, fulfilling, acceptable and safe. It is a good way to experience sexual pleasure and can be done throughout life.

Masturbation is only considered a problem when it inhibits sexual activity with a partner, is done in public, or causes significant distress to the person. It may cause distress if it is done compulsively and/or interferes with daily life and activities.

Is Masturbation Harmful?
In general, the medical community considers masturbation to be a natural and harmless expression of sexuality for both men and women. It does not cause any physical injury or harm to the body, and can be performed in moderation throughout a person's lifetime as a part of normal sexual behavior. Some cultures and religions oppose the use of masturbation or even label it as sinful. This can lead to guilt or shame about the behavior.

Some experts suggest that masturbation can actually improve sexual health and relationships. By exploring your own body through masturbation, you can determine what is erotically pleasing to you and can share this with your partner. Some partners use mutual masturbation to discover techniques for a more satisfying sexual relationship and to add to their mutual intimacy.

Nope!

However, I believe that masturbation should be taught within Schools. And, I happen to be a Conservative Republican.

What does "Conservative Republican" mean?
In Hungary - may I say in Europe - we have no such thing, person or ideology.

OK, this question is an Eurotrash.

Republican Party (United States)

...

The Republican Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with the Democratic Party. It is often called the Grand Old Party or the GOP. The party supports a conservative and/or center-right platform, with foundations in supply-side fiscal policies, social conservatism, and personal responsibility.

From this Wikipedia Article:

It is held in many mental health circles that masturbation can relieve depression, stress and lead to a higher sense of self-worth.[38] Masturbation can also be particularly useful in relationships where one partner wants more sex than the other – in which case masturbation provides a balancing effect and thus a more harmonious relationship.[39]

Mutual masturbation, the act by which two or more partners stimulate themselves in the presence of each other, allows a couple to reveal the "map to [their] pleasure centers". By watching a partner masturbate, one finds out the methods they use to please him- or herself, allowing each partner to learn exactly how the other enjoys being touched.[39]

In 2003, an Australian research team led by Graham Giles of The Cancer Council Australia[40] concluded that frequent masturbation by males appears to help prevent the development of prostate cancer. The study also indicated that this would be more helpful than ejaculation through sexual intercourse because intercourse can transmit diseases that may increase the risk of cancer instead. However, this benefit may be age related. A 2008 study concluded that frequent masturbation, at a rate of about two to seven times a week, between the ages of 20 and 40, is correlated with higher risk of developing prostate cancer. On the other hand, masturbation at a rate of once per week, in one's 50s, was found to be correlated with a lower such risk.[41]

A study published in 1997 found an inverse association between death from coronary heart disease and frequency of orgasm even given the risk that myocardial ischaemia and myocardial infarction can be triggered by sexual activity.

The association between frequency of orgasm and all cause mortality was also examined using the midpoint of each response category recorded as number of orgasms per year. The age adjusted odds ratio for an increase of 100 orgasms per year was 0.64 (0.44 to 0.95).

That is, a difference in mortality appeared between any two subjects when one subject ejaculated at around two times per week more than the other. Assuming a broad range average of between 3 to 5 ejaculations per week for healthy males, this would mean 5 to 7 ejaculations per week. This is consistent with a 2003 Australia article on the benefits against prostate cancer.[42]

Masturbation is also seen as a sexual technique that protects individuals from the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. Support for such a view, and for making it part of the American sex education curriculum, led to the dismissal of US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders during the Clinton administration.

...

In 1994, when the Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Joycelyn Elders, mentioned as an aside that it should be mentioned in school curricula that masturbation was safe and healthy, she was forced to resign,[62] with opponents asserting that she was promoting the teaching of how to masturbate. Many believe this was the result of her long history of promoting controversial viewpoints and not due solely to her public mention of masturbation.

I don't believe it is the business of church leaders to ask members whether they masterbate or not. It's none of their business. Look, I'm going to be rather crass about it and I don't mean to sound offensive, but this I feel for sure: Church leaders shouldn't be asking boys if they stroke their cocks or asking girls if they tickle their clits! I think too many of the young men of the church are getting hounded by men who love to have control over others.

Hope that didn't sound really nasty. That's how I feel about it.
