Re: Gene Cook-Mick Jagger airplaine conversation
Gad,
What wrong birthplace for a child? Do you mean the Virginia location you mentioned earlier? Isn't it possible that one of his children with Hall was born in Virginia?
I'm thinking it's possible.

according to wiki, his first with hall (to make the thrid child) was in new york city. It's possible, wiki could be wrong.

Doubt it - chronology on the timeisonourside.com site puts it in NYC:
"March 2, 1984: Mick Jagger attends the natural childbirth of his first daughter with Jerry Hall, Elizabeth, in New York City."
"One of the surest ways to avoid even getting near false doctrine is to choose to be simple in our teaching." - Elder Henry B. Eyring, Ensign, May 1999, 74

Re: Gene Cook-Mick Jagger airplaine conversation
I read a wiki on Jerry Hall that lists their children together. Looks like all their children were born in NYC, with the possible exception of one child who doesn't have a link to go to.
So what is the deal here, did Elder Cook claim that he had a child, his third, on the way with a woman in Virginia? (I know I could look back through the thread, but I'm not doing it).
Doesn't look like that's true.

Re: Gene Cook-Mick Jagger airplaine conversation
Here's what BYU-I's text of the speech says:
"As we chatted, I [Cook] told him [Jagger] that I was married and had
eight children. He told me that he was not married but that he had three children and was proud of it. He told me that he had one woman pregnant in Virginia, one in New York, and one in England, as I recall."
So it was not the children already born to Jagger at the time of the airplane conversation that were born in Virginia, New York and England, but those were the places where the 3 women Jagger allegedly had pregnant at the time of the flight were.
As noted in this regard in the Mormanity blog,

So it was not the children already born to Jagger at the time of the airplane conversation that were born in Virginia, New York and England, but those were the places where the 3 women Jagger allegedly had pregnant at the time of the flight were.
As noted in this regard in the Mormanity blog,
Jagger's children, as well documented outside the context of this forensic exercise and thus not motivated to confirm or dispel an alleged encounter with Elder Cook, are:
Karis Hunt Jagger, b. 4 Nov 1970 (mother, Marsha Hunt)
Jade Jagger, b. 21 Oct 1971 (mother, Jagger's wife at the time, Bianca Jagger)
Elizabeth Jagger, b. 2 Mar 1984 (mother, Jerry Hall, whom Jagger later married)
James Jagger, b. 28 Aug 1985 (mother, Jerry Hall, whom Jagger later married)
Georgia Jagger, b. 12 Jan 1992 (mother, Jerry Hall, Jagger's wife at the time)
Gabriel Jagger, b. 13 Dec 1997 (mother, Jerry Hall, Jagger's wife at the time)
Lucas Jagger, b. 18 May 1999 (mother, Luciana Morad, Brazilian model)
If the encounter took place--or the magazine was printed--in the era of 2 Mar 1984 to 28 Aug 1985, Jagger did indeed have 3 children. This time frame fits with Troy Cook's assertion that the encounter took place in November or December 1984.
If it occurred in December 1984, then one woman, Jerry Hall, was pregnant at the time with a child of Jagger. Not three women. And as these matters of Jagger's paternity goes, just as the 1999 birth of Lucas demonstrates, it becomes a very public matter, high amounts of money are claimed (and paid--$10,000,000 in that case), and Jagger's wife at the time, Jerry Hall, divorced over the matter. It seems highly improbable that Jagger had two other women pregnant in 1984 and neither they nor the offspring has come forward to claim their bounty from Jagger.

Re: Gene Cook-Mick Jagger airplaine conversation
If anyone reading this message lives in Salt Lack City and is inclined, he or she could go to the Church Office Building and look at Elder Gene Cook's journals for the period of March 1984 through August 1985, looking for any reference to Mick Jagger, a rock musician, or a flight to Dallas or Houston from Mexico City.
That 17 month period is the time that Jagger had 3 but not yet 4 children, as Cook's account has Jagger explaining he had 3 children at the time of the flight. That same 17 month period includes the November or December 1984 time frame that Cook's son Troy has last indicated that the flight took place. The exact date could then be known from the entry in the journals by Cook, which Troy also explains was contemporaneously entered.
I would do this research myself, but for the distance it would require me to travel.

I think it is wrong for Cook to cast Jagger in a negative light.

All Mormons males who repeatedly need to stand in front of people and give some type of message should always read anyone they talk to in a confessional setting or casually that they have the right to remain silent and Mormon males should disclose to them that anything they say could be used at a fireside or conference. Confessions by members will only have the situation the person was in repeated - it could be to as few as ten people or as many as hundreds of thousands. Non-members get no such promise as to name or the conversation.
If one is forever cautious, can one remain a human being?"

DanDanite,
Is your avatar a photo of Al Pacino as Tony Montana in the 1983 'Scarface'?

In Nov/Dec 84 Mick would not have claimed that Jerry Hall was pregnant. Child #4 was still a twinkle in Sir Mick's eye until early Dec. Even if #4 was 2 weeks overdue at birth, he would not have been detectable (esp in those days) until mid Dec - let alone the subject of very very early pregnancy announcements!
If the 'pregnancy' claims relate to the three existing children, then GRC has mis-remembered the locations (to be fair he didn't claim accuracy for this statement - but this implies he was quite confident about his other statements). If these are further pregnancies - they don't include Ms Hall, and what sort of (well-known celebrity) idiot would confess such blatant infidelity to a stranger, given the very high cost of the media and/or Ms Hall hearing about it.
The statement is totally discrepant on a number of levels. Why brag about having 3 children with 3 partners over 14 years in 3 different locations? It is not particularly shocking - especially for celebrities. If the point is getting 3 women pregnant at one time - which is strongly implied, Sir Mick most certainly would not be telling anyone about it!
