He was very human too. And yet, many people lost money in Enron because they thought Lay was perfect, not prone to human failings.

No one thought he was perfect. Where's the facepalm smiley?

I have never heard a church leader say that they are perfect, without faults. Perhaps you have but I must have missed it.

No, but they say we should follow the prophet without question. So, it really adds up to the same thing.

Why Me--

What's a five-letter word for lying to get money out of people (i.e., buying your books and motivational tapes)?

I'll give you a hint: it starts with "f" and ends with "d." And it rhymes with "rod."

Do people have to be public liars, fraudsters and swindlers in order to prove they are human to us?

Are honest people somehow not human?

"Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man?"

Dunn is dead. But again, I kinda of feel sorry for the guy. Now for years and years critics will bring up his name as a negative against the entire church. People are people and they make mistakes. Dunn made his. You make your mistakes. Such is the human experience. End of story.

Give me a break. People lie. People make mistakes. People are fraudsters. And people are swindlers. People are also killers. People steal. People cheat. No one is honest if they are honest with who they are. Are you perfect? I don't think so. And if you are not perfect, why should have Dunn been perfect.

No one here is wishing that Dunn had been perfect. They're wishing that Dunn was adequate.

If that is the case it seems that church has set their standards for humans far too high.

It also is impossible for God or Jesus to hold us accountable for our response to a message delivered by extremely flawed humans. That would not be just, let alone merciful.

Also, I reject your notion of "perfect" to begin with. It's a false construct.
