Santorum is the latest poster boy for the "anybody but mitt" Republicans. He will take the lead, then quickly drop in the polls just as Perry, Cain, and Gingrich did before him.

That's probably correct. It seems like the Republican primaries are a race to the bottom. Still, from the viewpoint of a disinterested observer, if Santorum's numbers stay high for a little while, he may start seeing more and larger donations. This might give him a fighting chance for an upset.

Quasimodo,
You have to pull for Romney!!!! If for no other reason then the circus value of a Mormon running for or even being president. You will own water cooler talk with the Mormon tidbits you could drop during political conversations. You would be the life of the party telling Joseph Smith pick up lines. "Hey have you heard the one about the flaming sword and the two sisters?" or "You know if you play your cards right you could be one of my celestial wives." Runtu could start writing 10 ten funny things Mormons do in the White house lists. Srsly Romney being president gives us discussion board fodder for years.

OK, I usually stay out of political threads but will offer my 2 cents.
Romney is going to win. He's the one man that has a fighting chance to beat Obama. The other guys don't have a prayer against Obama. But a financial Mormon wizard might have the magic to fix everything. It would be like testing God to see if he is really there and listening. Americans would love to tempt God! It's human nature. Let's see if the Mormon God can save America, and if he can't, then out comes the boot and we'll blame the Mormons.
I hope Mitt wins. The Mormon church is on the line.

I see your point, but I'm still suffering the financial pain from the last religious, Republican President. If Romney becomes President, I'm not sure I will be able to afford an internet connection to keep up with the board.
I suspect a Santorum administration would be worse than a Romney one, but I think his chances of winning the Presidency are zero.
That being said, I think Romney's chances are close to that. I'm not really worried about either one in the national race and Romney as the nominee will bring out all those "uncomfortable" facts about the Church.

As a Republican friend of mine said recently, a vote for Romney is two votes for Obama. I tend to agree. I just don't see Romney swaying many independents. Unless something radical happens, sit tight for another 4 years of the Democrats in the White House.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

This is NOT Good news. The Mighty Builder seems to be happy about this, but this is Not something to be happy about. Mitt Romney needs to get the GOP Nomination for President, so that the media can do a thorough investigation into the LDS Church. Mitt Romney also needs to get the GOP Nomination for President, so that this Message board can get more activity. Since I am a Registered Republican, I will be voting for Mitt Romney in the Primary for the GOP Nominee for President.
This is what I stated about Rick Santorum from another Thread here:

Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum essentially ended up tying in the Iowa Caucus last night. If by some strange way that Rick Santorum gets the GOP Nominee for President, I will vote for Barack Obama over him. There is absolutely No way that I would ever vote for Rick Santorum for President.

Exactly, and four years of him in the White house will keep that discussion going during that time. Those uncomfortable facts will not just be limited to obscure discussion boards but will be argued out in every household in the nation. What a fascinating time that would be.
I like Romney. I would vote for him Mormon or not. I just see it as a huge bonus that he is LDS.
