No, they won't change. It isn't profitable. Ignorant chapel Mormons will fight the hardest for the cult. Internet Mormons like DCP just take potshots but always flee when faced with reality.
I've said this before here, but it's fun to have the opportunity to say it again.
The Church is now in an untenable position. If the Church admits that their version of history is not correct, they lose their claim that it's the one, true church governed by a prophet of God (they are fallible).
If they don't admit that they have been "fudging" things, there is too much reliable information out there for any reasonable person to take them seriously.
It's a lose/ lose situation.
Most of the current older generation might be unaware of the true history now available. The next generation is much more aware. The next generation after that will be acutely aware. How many generations will it take for there to be no members left?
The ship is sinking. It's interesting to watch the rearranging of deck chairs.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.
