That would be great if people were aware/ concerned about the needs of others. If left to the whims of most people, the needy would starve and die needlessly. Unfortunately, that is the case right now.

How would you propose to solve the problem? Or would you prefer to let them die?

Well given enough money many things are possible in this world. But under any system, hard decisions must be made. That's a consequence of this world, not any government system. You can only just print money for so long. The argument is over who has the right to make these hard decisions.

Wars are sometimes fought over the right to make decisions even more than just land and resources.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Hard decisions ARE made. Softer decisions would be better. There are sufficient resources (money) in this world to resolve many of these problems (maybe all).

Democracies exist to choose people to make these decisions. If those people fall short, we can choose new ones. It's not a matter of finances, it's a matter of will. Selflessness over selfishness.

Wars between countries are almost always fought over resources. Sometimes (rarely) over religious differences. Civil wars are sometimes fought to establish control. Those are very rare.
