It doesn't cover his sins, not by a long shot. And I think he got more wrong than he got right, which brings into question his basic premise.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

If a guy never got hooked up with God you can chuck him after he makes his false prophecy. A man who gets hooked up with God and ever once shows that; he has got a pass. God might be messing with him. Ya never know.
Only God can make a prophet and only God can break a prophet. The rants of prophet haters cannot rob a prophet of his virtue.
Look as Samson. He got his powers back. So God was just messing with him. Jonah thought he prophesied the destruction of Nineveh. Oh well.
Actually, it's men that make prophets.

Yes, if it was a true prophesy, Albion, it would, but remember that Biblical prophets have made incorrect statements based on their own opinions. The problem with many here is that they don't judge Biblical prophets by the same harsh and unfair criteria that they judge LDS prophets and scripture. Another problem here is that some are apparently ignorant of both!

And then there are those who are equally judgmental of both...

When you tell a person that 2 plus 2 equals the equivalent of how much wood a wood chuck-chuck can chuck on a summer day when it's 92 degrees, then you're simply evading answering the question and resorting to distortion for not having the answer. Your plastic BS is transparent gdemetz, and you are not intelligent enough to have a conversation with, as you can't address the questions asked. Here's one you can't answer:
Name one thing "Christian" about Mormon doctrine?
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. 2 Tim 4:4 They will turn their ears away from the truth & turn aside to myths

It's Joseph Smith that created the D&C... which you believe in.... correct? Are you then damned for not accepting D&C 132? (insert answer here).
4 For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. 2 Tim 4:4 They will turn their ears away from the truth & turn aside to myths
Thews, are you still here?! Have you forgotten about the list of all the CHRISTIAN teachings and practices done by the LDS?!? Maybe you need to read that again!!!

harms, no way you are or ever have been any kind of real Mormon. I am seeing the hairs of Sandra Tanner on you. Either that or the only thing that you know about Joseph Smith is what you've read in anti-mormon tracts. This proves you have an agenda against him and cannot be trusted to be fair. No way.

You are admitting that you do not believe in God. For surely God makes prophets. I would resent as badly as you do Joseph Smith any man made prophet. I hate them. Beyond the slightest doubt Joseph Smith was not a man made prophet. If you recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd then you must admit Joseph received revelations from Jesus Christ. This is precisely why so many who grew up reading and hearing the words of Jesus flocked to Joseph and were certain he was a prophet. Those people were primed to know their Master's voice. How many ministers joined he Mormons? Why do you think it happened that the Mormons collected the best of every church in the land? And they did.
Think of all the man made prophets who have attempted to speak in the name of the Lord. There is no comparison between these man made hacks and the sublime spiritual eloquence and originality beyond what Christ already said in the Bible that Joseph Smith captured. Marvelous in my eyes.
