What in the world (I mean universe) is this god thinking in having Monson as god's 'mouthpiece' when Monson (and therefore god) has nothing to say?

He speaks all the time starting at, but by no means limited to, twice a year at GC.

That's a good question.

In contrast, I have just received a further two revelations from Jesus Christ Jehovah Son Ahman, delivered via Warren Jeffs, one dated May 31 and the other June 4. They are clearly of divine origin, since they are written in a version of the interesting variant of early 17th century English favored by the Lord in D&C - language is a living thing, and it is therefore quite OK that The Lord nowadays says things like "I soon cometh in full glory power, to rule all peoples on earth now of full way wicked", even if that might have made King James's men raise an eyebrow or two. You can't fake that kind of thing.

Maybe it would help Monson's prophetical productivity if he was in jail too?

I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

The last official TRANSLATION is recorded in LDS scripture as follows:

A Facsimile from the Book of Abraham
Explanation
6.Olimlah, a slave belonging to the prince.

Now if you ask me it proves that the Mormon church ended on a very sour note. Look at their final translation from a prophet, TRANSLATOR, revelator, and seer!

Now, imagine fat boy Tommy Monson adding more Explanations to Facsimile no. 3! Mormons are a joke! Isn't that right Tommy boy? Prophesy, Tommy! Prophesy!

His eye discourses. I will answer it.

by the way, what purpose do you think is served by god not speaking LOUDLY and CLEARLY to everyone? Is he able to?

I think we can notice God influencing young children when we notice acts of charity at least like thinking of others before themselves. The intent of the Father drawing us to Christ is to give us notions that will help us believe and expect a gospel real experience. How would God teach? I only wish I had this wisdom when my own kids were young.

He does not lecture or reason with us. So then audibility would have nothing to do with it.He would give to our mind sudden thoughts that we would either keep and take to heart or ignore and cast out. The more we take to heart the more we will be given to add to our contemplations. We would be building a foundation to come unto Christ. Perhaps what he teaches us is to think by faith as well as by reason. Teaching us how to think will imprint a direction of where that sort of thinking will lead. Cool teaching. Eternal teaching. What say ye teachers. Teaching how to think as a means of steering learning. I say its wonderfully wise, and very elegant, and worthy of great God who could comprehend the end from the beginning.

Parents might wonder where did this child learn about love with a sudden depth of any sort.
Or it might be observes that a child is kind and helpful and wanting others to enjoy everything as much as they do. Little flashed from the light of Christ that would steer a heart to expect God would want you to be more than you can be on your own.

Will parents ever take up a responsibility to see to it that their children listen to God and expect to be led in their thoughts from on High? Parents is Zion will be drilled in the obligation, I promise you that.

"What in the universe?" Do Mormons believe God rules the entire Universe? I always felt He owned a few parcels. Maybe the Milky Way? I'm serious. I always felt there would have to be other Gods ruling other sectors of the vast universe. It seemed more doctrinal to me.

I believe that the Lord tells us that he is over all that is. Worlds without number. He is not the seed progenitor of any of them so you can relax about the LDS misunderstanding that God is our spirit father. He organized intelligence by the word of his power. That is why he is our "Eternal" Father meaning father of that which IS eternal, our intelligence in an organized and independent state of existence, at his word. Abba Father. (no mother involved) All three are co-equally the Very Eternal Father as it is the Will of the Father in the Name, or by the word of Jesus Christ, our Maker, and brought into function by the Power of the Holy Ghost, so all three are our Very Eternal Father. And thus they can be the same for all the universe and assign organized intelligence to all the worlds without number in their time.

The Vicar of Joseph Smith.
Being a Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction -Pope Benedict XVI
