It's funny, but John Cleese didn't write that.

The base, true taste of the beer.
Without the taste of bitterness, we couldn't size up the sweetness of the life.

Never SHOULD be corrupted
- the true love with marriage!
- the coffee with sugar!
- the beer with lemonade!
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

I'm keen on cricket. They stop for tea in that sport. So, so awesome.
Ooh, a man after my own heart. I love cricket. My wife, who is British, does not understand my fascination with it.

We happened to be visiting her family in 2005 when England finally regained The Ashes. We were attending a garden party, and at some point I realized that many of the gentlemen guests had disappeared. I found them inside watching a live broadcast of the final moments of play. The whole scene was so very, very English: even though it was very obvious that the Test was going to end in a draw (which is all England needed to win the series), several of the old gentlemen were discussing the very great likelihood that England would collapse and allow Australia to mount a miraculous comeback. That didn't happen, of course, and England won the series for the first time in 20 years. The gentlemen were in polite agreement that it was all a jolly good show after all. :)

Baseball is cool too. Tonight, the game was tied, bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, and Mariners scored. So awesome! It was my second big league game of my life and a first for the rest of the family.
Very cool. I didn't get to watch the game, but this morning I read about the walk-off sac fly. Jaso seems to be doing rather well in his limited role. I wish he had received more playing time earlier in the season.

Wow, you make your own? Cool! I always figured it must be like making cheese.

I am a beer snob and proud of it. Beer is an art. Beer is a science. I am just one of many many thousands of amateur Oregon home brewers.

I have graded over 500 microbrews from across the United States. AND AND, my hometown is still the microbrew capital of the world. There are more microbrews per capita in Bend/Redmond Oregon, than any city on the planet. Currently operating at this time: Deuschutes Brewery, Bend Brewery, The Brew Werks, Silvermoon, Ten Barrel, Boneyard, The Crux Brewery Project, Goodlife, McMennimins, Phat Matt's, Cascade Brewing Company, Sostice, Three Creeks. Ten of these breweries are in the downtown district, less than one square mile. At last count, one could sample at least 99 different microbrews on the Bend Ale Trail.

Bend is beer. I highly recommend that if you like beer and are traveling through the central Oregon region, plan a night or two stop and walk the Bend Ale Trail. There is a free phone app you can download.

Oh yeah, I do like Polygamy Porter. I would probably take a Black Butter Porter first, but, Polygamy Porter is a good drink.

I'm a former home brewer, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good beer. I haven't touched a drop in over 10 years (), but Black Butte Porter was one of my favorites.

I certainly do!
As somebody who do speak neither GB English nor US one, I like especially his comments about the language...
Yesterday I was reading Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost" which contains this gem: "Indeed, in many respects, [Mrs. Otis] was quite English, and was an excellent example of the fact that we have really everything in common with America nowadays, except, of course, language."
