"Dick" Cheney might be.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Nope. I suspect one could rely on Cheney to protect the 2nd Amendment. However, all those eager to dilute or get rid of it are just as eager to be seen shooting some type of gun to deceive the electorate. Hence, they are compensating for the fact that as soon as they are in office, they will work to take down the constitution.

Nah, no one is working to take your guns away, bc. Unless, of course, you own a tank like in your photos. bc with a tank is kinda scary.

Even more scary is going hunting with Dick. If you get invited, I suggest you decline.

I would hate to lose our bc because he was looking a little quailish that day.

So no one is trying to ban, limit, or register ArmaLite style arms and large capacity magazines?

Even more scary is going hunting with Dick. If you get invited, I suggest you decline.

Yeah, sure, John Kerry, Vietnam Vet and recipient of various medals for serving, and sometimes volunteering, for particularly dangerous duties, can rightly be called a "homecoming queen" by bcspace, whom I suspect has never served in the military at all.

by the way, since you bring this up yet again, bcspace, perhaps you're ready to finally answer my questions.

Let's review. Here's what Scalia wrote for the Heller case:

The Second Amendment right is not unlimited. We do not cast doubt on concealed-weapons prohibitions, laws barring possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, laws barring firearms in sensitive places like schools and government buildings, and laws imposing conditions on commercial sale of arms. (54-55) Also, the sorts of weapons protected are the sorts of small arms that were lawfully possessed at home at the time of the Second Amendment’s ratification, not those most useful in military service today, so “M-16 rifles and the like” may be banned.

Here are the executive orders that Obama wants implemented:

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan

So can you point to the orders which violate the second amendment?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

It was interesting to see how effectively campaign marketing made John Kerry, a Vietnam war hero, into an effete pussy while simultaneously making George W. Bush, a blue-blood cheerleader from Yale, into a tough guy cowboy.

Interesting and depressing. Doesn't say a lot for the future of the human species that we can be so easily manipulated.

It would be interesting to find out how many neo-cons actually served in the military.

Republican and Democrats both do this shameless "pose by some haybails" image manufacturing, but Republicans usually are much better about it. They're better able to work the media to mock Democrats for their posturing than the reverse. There are exceptions. The Clintons and their team of surrogates are exceptionally good at it.

John Kerry got the nomination in large part because of a perception that his being legit war hero would insulate him from "elitist, effeminate pussy, enemy loving liberal" stereotyping Republicans try to employ every election in an election that was focused on war. But that's not how it works. Even when he's running against an Ivy League son of privilege who was a former cheerleader and whose fortune was in part due to his family profiting from the Nazis. All that guy has to do is all of a sudden adopt a goofy everyman Southern accent, buy a ranch, and wear a cowboy hat. The Democrats simply aren't as good at getting media outlets to make fun of that kind of imagineering.
