Gasoline Prices: Obama beats Bush

Post by _Kevin Graham »

Not that Presidents have any control over this. I thought I'd mention it since Republicans continue to spin the data to attack Obama on gas prices whenever they go up.

Gasoline Prices

Gasoline prices — not included in our graphic — have remained volatile, but have yet to equal the record $4.11 national average price for regular that was seen in July 2008.

The price when Obama first took office was an unusually low $1.85 per gallon, held down by the worldwide economic recession he inherited. It later more than doubled to a high of $3.97, in May 2011. Last week it was $3.54, an increase of 92 percent since he first took office, but still well short of the record.

More propaganda and a twisting of facts, while mentioning the facts, the irony.

You need to pay attention to the words Kevin. They admit in the article that gas prices have been more than doubled during his admin. Their only claim is that "well the gas prices haven't reached the 'high peak' yet".

What does that matter Kevin? So what that the total gas prices haven't reached the high peak of Bush years? You do know a high peak is not the total price over-all over time don't you?

Obama DOESN'T beat Bush.... in actual gas prices overall.

Further, it's his policy's that keeps it high, and that's a simple fact.

As I said, Presidents don't have any control over gas prices. Only Republican idiots like you say otherwise, and the point is you ONLY SAY IT whenever the prices tend to fluctuate upwards during Obama. When they fluctuate downwards, your precious FOX news becomes silent. You never complained that during Bush, even when it reached a record high. I'm pointing out double-standard.

This is easily provable, because if they did, gas prices would never, ever rise before a presidential election!
