LOL. I should have said duck? Goose? Help me here.
Truth is, I have never been hunting in my life.
Kinda shows, doesn't it?

I run deer down, wrestle them to the ground, and bite their throats out.

I didn't realize that Chap was from Wyoming, till the above post.

Plenty of stopping power at close range, agreed. But 12 gauge slugs sort of suck when it comes to accuracy for deer sized targets at longer ranges.
Not to belabor the point, but I'm sure you will agree that most folks don't go hunting deer with a 12 gauge.

Yep, it is a close range kind of weapon. Popular with the whitetail hunting crowd on the UP and other heavily wooded areas. Though you can buy rifled barrels for most shotguns giving a boost in accuracy at a distance. Then you also have to buy the right rounds.

If Chap lives in the west, my guess would be the west of England.

Hey Phaedrus!

This will be devastating to the average person?
Do you really think so? (To be clear, this is a serious question)
Perhaps I am wrong but I think the impact it will have will be exactly zero (or very near zero) to the great, great majority.
Not singling you out for an argument, Phaedrus, just randomly chose your post in hope of further discussion along this line.
Peace,

Somehow I figured you were that ornery.

I read several pages of this interesting thread yesterday, but have not had the time to read it all. Has anybody located Book of Mormon specific proper names in this other book (these other books)? My recollection is that some had averred identical names on Spaulding's Manuscript, such as "Moroni." Anything like that here? All the Best! --Consiglieri

I note that your wild animal hunting weapon of choice is a ship-mounted howitzer.

Actually my instrument of choice is a 7wt 13 foot spey rod (when the species being targeted does not involve dinosaurs, in which case I use the howitzer).
