There aren't many people in the United States who pay out more in taxes than they receive in benefits when you take into account scaling of services. It's a minority of the country. Your proposing mass sterilization while only the wealthy be allowed to have children by the government. Most Mexicans believe that if they had kept ownership of the land north of the Rio Grande - Texas, California and New Mexico, these areas would be economically prosperous like they are now. This is wishful - even delusional thinking. These areas became prosperous because they belong to the US, not Mexico. Had these lands stayed under the control of Mexico, they would not have helped Mexico prosper. This part of Mexico would be as dysfunctional as the rest of Mexico. All that would change is that constant revolutions, widespread poverty, a disastrous economic system, bad health care, poor education, political turmoil and murderous drug cartels would be in a country twice as large as it is now. Even more illegal immigrants from Mexico would be coming into our considerably smaller country for jobs.

I'm just curious Kevin. Do you fall in line with most other Latinos in believing that the American West would be as much or more prosperous than it is now if it still belonged to Mexico?

The state of Wisconsin in the process of passing 250 million dollars plus interest over 20 years along with other subsidies to assist the hedge fund billionaires who own the Milwaukee Bucks in building a new arena. The billionares, who could easily afford the arena themselves if they so chose, will be be able to keep the profits generated from their publicly funded arena. This is being done with a Republican majority pushing it through.
So should they, and everyone employed by them, be subject to randomized drug testing and forced sterilization for the next 20 years?
I guess you'd have to create a consequence for failed drug tests for the billionaires. For poor people, failed drug tests means stripping them of their benefits and their basic subsistence. While these billionaires are being given more money than most people can even fully conceptualize what it is like to have, the same kind of consequence cannot exist. You can't take money being spent back. If anything is found - keeping in mind that drug testing has a pretty high false positive rate - in this case I imagine we'd have to do something like publicly seize ownership of the Milwaukee Bucks' related assets. Is that what you favor? I know the idea of wealthy Wall street investors doing drugs absurd, but we have to plan just in case, right?
The owners are old enough that the sterilization wouldn't be so bad. The same isn't true of their employees of course. But since their family members benefit tremendously as well, should would be sterilizing them too?
Stripping them of their right to vote probably won't be so bad so long as they remain able to contribute whatever portion of their vast sum of wealth they want attempting to convince others to vote the way they prefer. Or does stripping them of their right to vote also include stripping other forms of political advocacy too? Will it be illegal for them to donate to political campaigns? I'm trying to figure out how your totalitarian nightmare is supposed to work here.
Now that her trust fund is being enhanced by the state of Wisconsin raining down more money on her father than it does thousands of poor people, I'm curious how often she should be forced at gunpoint to go to the doctor to have her state enforced birth-control implants checked.
