Monetize ponderize
Re: Monetize ponderize
I'm thinking of trying to market the word "Pornderize". You know, pick out a porno, ponder it for a week, then watch it over the weekend to a happy ending. Since Utah leads the nation in porn subscriptions, I might have come upon something here ("That's what she said!!" LOL!!!)

Or "Ponderbate"

Intimidated by very large shrimp? You can free yourself of that anxiety by getting our new Prawnderizer mallet. Flatten out those fearful critters then simply dip them if tempura batter and fry in the wok. All necessary ingredient from your friends at the Deseret Book Emporium.

Shouldn't that be "panderize?"
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Coincidence?
Durrant's hole is getting deeper.....
“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

I haven't found anything in the book to suggest it constitutes a combination of ponder and memorize. What leads you to believe it's unlikely they came up with the word independently?

Re: Monetize ponderize
It is always possible they came up with the word independently.
What I think we have to compare is (1) the unusual nature of the word itself; (2) the proximity in time to the 2014 publication of the "ponderize" book by Rev. David Morrison; and, (3) the fact that they are both used in a religious context related to scripture.
Also I am starting to think that the possibility that Elder Durrant was aware of this book may help explain some of his statements.
For example:
Elder Durrant appears to be familiar with a prior usage of the term, but claims a unique usage.
Are there any other candidates than Reverend David Morrison's book?

The Oxford English Dictionary.
(Despite Durrants claim that the word is not to be found in the dictionary, it actually is)
