wording on current tithing slip?

Post by _Lemmie »

From a 2012 thread, I found the following, could anyone in the know tell me if this is still how tithing slips read?
Five categories: Tithing, Fast offering, General missionary, Ward missionary, Humanitarian aid, and Other (specify).

Bottom of slip: "Though reasonable efforts will be made globally to use donations as designated, all donations become the Church's property and will be used at the Church's sole discretion to further the Church's overall mission."

Yes.

(At least the ones used by my ward.)

So when you think you are donating $20 in fast offerings to help out the poor, just keep in mind it's just going into the general tithing pool. It would be better to send the $20 directly to the poor.

Or twenty dollars worth of socks to Doctor Steuss. He distributes food and clothing to the homeless in Las Vegas.

ETA: Winter is coming! I wonder what other things Doctor Steuss needs in they way of fast offerings for his homeless friends?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Thank you Dr. Steuss. And your point is well taken, Quasi and DH, which is why I was asking.

Yes, the folks in Canada found out about this the hard way. From what I understand, their donations for one year all went to BYU.

Is this the explanation for their football team and its record. They get confused trying to spend that Canadian money and forget the plays?
