I'm torn. I agree with your premise and actually removed my name from the records simply because I could never keep my mouth shut out of my own personal morality. I could never allow my children to be brainwashed by the cult. However, leaving the church or staying and not believing are both mentally taxing on an individual for different reasons. I therefore sympathize for both choices. That being said, I struggle to understand why someone would stay without believing in the magic. It makes little sense to me outside of social/family reasons.

Good on you. You stood up for your children and decided that they should not be forced to live their lives for anyone but themselves.

This "testimonial" seems to encourage being dishonest and ****:

So this whipped guy lies to his bishop and stake pres to keep his all day pass to the Mormon house of handshakes.

This dishonest wimp will likely later come here to the REAL MormonDiscussions and vent about his kids marrying Mormons and going on missions blah blah blah

I don't know... perhaps most, if not all of those so called testimonials are FAKE.

Bill is a good guy who is not scared of questioning his own religion.

And he doesn't have a lot of patience with apologetics as usual.

Which is why he sometimes gets crosswise with Scott Gordon.

Bill's main goal is to follow the truth, wherever it may lead him.

I have a lot of respect for him.
