What Hugh Nibley Did Right

Chapter 15 on Geometry in his final book "One Eternal Round" is worth the cost of the book! Finally, here Nibley gave us all some ideas and clues as to where our real research ought to head into. This chapter alone got the most positive comments because it was so new and refreshing and INTERESTING! And yet no one follows up on this. Yes, I diss Nibley on some things, and rightfully so. I also believe in giving him credit where credit is deserved, and here......HERE is credit overload! And well deserved.

Now, following up with a study of Lawlor on Sacred Geometry or Leonora Leet in her magnificent geometric analysis of Kabbalistic cosmology in her books makes a fantastic rounding out of what Nibley gave us here, and let us not forget John Michell or Michael S. Schneider, even though he really could have elaborated even more than he already did. But I must say, having that chapter makes me glad to have spent the money for the book. THANK YOU Dr. Nibley........

You know, the very thing that I assume was the entire point of this thread in the first place.

Oh, sorry! I think what Nibley ended up with was a sacred geometry exposition and hints that it is in the math, the geometry and how it relates to form and language that we can grasp the ancient mysteries better, which, in theory, are supposed to make us better at being able to cope with life. All those other authors show is that as well only without the testimony of imagining it is only available in Mormonism.

One of my all time favorite books on this subject is Robert Lawlor's analysis of how to use a compass and straight edge to learn the rhythms and ins and outs of geometry as a meditation. The Pythagoreans were really onto something and their knowledge is like the scarlet thread throughout history that has been shown by Leonora Leet. She was the finest Kabbalist around for the cosmology aspects of the math and language and interpretation of the ancient Kabbalistic texts.

This is really cool...reminds me of the movie Arrival. Did you see it? All about how language and communication relate to time.
