monetized

Post by _subgenius »

YouTube has a content crisis — again. On the heels of the company’s child exploitation problem, it finds itself facing a new wave of criticism after high-profile YouTuber Logan Paul posted a video of a dead body while filming in Aokigahara, Japan’s so-called “suicide forest.” The Logan Paul controversy is just the latest for a company that has increasingly had to contend with criticism over what kind of content is appropriate on its platform — and how it unevenly applies its own community guidelines.

so i make one video about my eating disorder and my entire channel is demonetized forever but logan paul can show a dead body and make fun of suicide and go # 1 on trending.
...
can you believe Logan Paul thought it was okay to show a dead damned body but HAD to bleep out the curse words in the video because THAT was more vulgar than a dead damned corpse.
...

You're right. No one should make fun of your bulimia, subgenius.

Noticed that a British paper also removed much of the content from the video before it could be shown.

Subgenius, what is your take on the acceptability of such subject matter?

Not sure about the subject matter yet...cogitating on it.
But I found the "business" of the subject matter more interesting. Also the notions of why people expect equal treatment under Google, as if it were the same as demanding your Constitutional right for having a bakery that hates you prepare your wedding cake...for you to ingest.
