Aren't homes very expensive in SoCal? How do the people who work minimum wage jobs afford a place to live unless they put 20 people in a room with one bathroom, similar to BYU honor code approved student housing.
yes, very expensive
You work hard, save money, and rent until you can afford a home. You don't have a hundred dollar cell phone bill and eat Cheetos and drink Cokes or have a drug and alcohol problem...most of here have done so.
There are workers I know, and \make okay money, that drive 50 or 60K trucks, and live in a rented apartment with 10 people...it is about choices.
Andi this is a bash on my own here. I know a very rich Christian man that is putting a lot of money into a ministry in a inner city that is in bad shape. And is talking about a skateboard park and a rapping/music studio, coffee shop, and tattoo parlor?
His heart is right, and he has a few other programs that are really good...but he has no idea what is needed in my opinion...A finance class, real vocational training, and public communication (how to get a job and talk with others, along with impression). In other words don't get a tattoo on your face and go look for a job in short pants and a ball cap on sideways.
We have guys that work for us that look like that, and are good workers...but most people would not give them a chance, and it is said t say promotion and management positions are not really an option for them and are rare.
