He's mimicking Shakespeare's balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet and you're right, he's not using it in the proper context.

p.s. I KNEW you had the dictionary!

I think CeeBoo is basically a decent, good-hearted person who sincerely wants to be on the side of truth and decency. I don't think he deserves the excoriation and verbal abuse to which some have subjected him. I think it is tragic, though, that he buys into the delusional claims of Prager "University" and the extreme, far right that seems to currently dominate our national government.

I'm sure you realize that I was well aware of that. That goes without saying, but thanks, anyway.

Yes, I have the dictionary! It is The Free Dictionary by Farlex, which is one of the apps I have downloaded to my computer.

Yeah, he is. And, here is the thing that doesn't seem to be recognized. There are very few here who hold opposing viewpoints and so when they speak up, they're automatically fielding posts from multiple posters. Something the "majority" here never experience. You can see this quite clearly in Terrestrial when LDS begin posting here and they're met with more replies than they expected to try to keep up with.

It's easy to lose track of multiple lines of exchanges with multiple posters, it's also easy to think it's not really worth the time and effort to do so. I can't say for sure how Ceeboo felt.

Were I met with the toxic psycho rant that I linked to, I would have decided it was out of bounds and my sense of self worth would have immediately rejected it. Ceeboo mentioned that post in his final post and noted that only one poster responded to it.

For a board that regularly takes up the cause of an MG or a subgenius derailing threads, regularly ridicules ajax about racism, or addresses the unhinged behavior of a DJT and the combative and hateful tone that has washed over America as if it was our job, only one poster addressed the unhinged and vicious personal attack that Ceeboo was confronted with.

If you were the recipient of that and saw that no one (save one poster) took exception to it, would you get the idea that maybe you were on a Stormfront-like board and that people thought that the behavior was acceptable?

It's really stunning to watch that happen and particularly so when, in response, people remain silent.

But, of what relevance is that, as you well know that I am Norwegian, not German. The nearest Norwegian is "hvorfor" ("why", in English), though for some reason Google Translate translates the English "wherefore" into "derfor" in Norwegian, which is not quite correct, as "derfor" is actually the Norwegian equivalent of "therefore", rather than "wherefore."
