Fantastic example of cognitive dissonance, there. :D

I'm glad y'all are enjoying this. I'm not sure what is so funny, though. Time will tell how it plays out.

But how it looks right now is 1) Kavanaugh will be confirmed. You've ensured it., 2) Kavanaugh is gonna have it in for you and your SJW causes, 3) Republicans are going to do way better in the midterms than they were going to, 4) #MeToo is dead. You've not only raped, but murdered, that movement.

Ironically, you've managed to accomplish other things as well, like 5) make the exmo community look immature, 6) cast doubt on McKenna Denson, 7) cast suspicion on Protect LDS Children. Maybe I'll start dropping some of the screenshots. A lot of chatter on Facebook. It's not good. So many of the highly popular exmo figures look like total lunatics with the things they've said. And interestingly, they've been getting substantial pushback on their comments. Like hollywood celebs, they just can't keep their mouth shut, though. They do damage to their brand.

Going down even harder, perhaps, are the edgy/liberal faithful voices. Particularly the women. Lots of feminist Mormon ladies came out with very full throated statements in favor of Ford and against "the patriarchy." I've even seen arguments based on the Book of Mormon and corrupt judges being what brought down the Nephite civilization. All of these people are increasingly looking like total asshats.

And what do you think the response will be? Something like this, "Yep, that's why women shouldn't have the priesthood. They are just too emotional. "

The letter was first given to FOX News, of course, which is why FOX is trying to make it the news of the week instead of obviously more important issues such as President getting busted for Tax Fraud, Trump mocking a sexual assault victim, and Kavanaugh's proven lies. They're ignoring all of this and desperately looking for something else to fill in their air time. The reason other reputable news outlets don't make a big stink of this nothing burger is probably because that's what it is. And the fact that if something is being promoted by FOX and their incestuous slew of Right Wing blogs/think tanks, then it is likely the best reason to ignore it.

I don't know where you see that this was a "sworn affidavit." It shows up as just a letter and the ex-boyfriend said he doesn't want to be involved, so obviously he isn't going to testify under oath and put himself under the microscope to have his claims examined further.

But a few points:

Ford's testimony was compelling in and of itself. FOX News, numerous Republicans and even the President said her testimony was compelling and credible. The fact that she also passed a polygraph is just a sidebar.

“I witnessed Dr. Ford help McLean prepare for a potential polygraph exam. Dr. Ford explained in detail what to expect, how polygraphs worked and helped McLean become familiar and less nervous about the exam. Dr. Ford was able to help because of her background in psychology.”

This could mean many things, but psychologists know more than anyone that polygraphs are useless in proving someone is telling the truth. He could be making this up or he could be remembering her telling her friend not to be nervous. Telling someone to remain calm isn't synonymous with coaching them how to lie and get away with it, which is clearly where the Right Wing media is going with this. Some people tell the truth and fail the polygraph because they're too nervous.

As far as not having an ax to grind with Ford, this is undermined by the fact that he felt the need to say this: "I discovered that Dr. Ford was unfaithful," which has nothing to do with anything. But he knew it would go viral and embarrass her.

Yup. There are still men around who simply cannot face the idea of women having any authority or power.

Sad. But that's religion for you.

Still cracks me up that people like waterdog still live in such a confined bubble.

They actually believe the President mocking a sexual assault victim after saying she was credible, getting busted with tax fraud, having his Supreme Court nominee shown to be a liar on multiple fronts, is just small potatoes and not newsworthy. To him, what's really news is that some unnamed dude claims to be the ex of the woman Kavanaugh assaulted, and he's really upset with her for cheating so he's going to say all kinds of things to make her look like a liar.

It's funny some people want to make this about false accusations, when in reality, they're worried about people taking factual allegations seriously.

It's so painfully obvious, and hilarious they don't see the weakness and meta-message of their bitching.

At least we have waterdog here to give us full insight into the misogynist's point of view. I wonder how many women he's afraid of speaking up.

And if there's one thing this exmo is frightened of, it's how I'm perceived by people who still buy the con.

LOL... yeah. Seems to me their already doing all the damage they can. What's left in their arsenal?
