'Leland was completely blindsided by her name being thrown into it all. The first thing she knew about it was when she woke up on Thursday morning and her name was just everywhere. It was crazy.'
Pictured here for the first time since the news Ford had named her as a witness, Keyser showed the strain of being catapulted into this political maelstrom.
...
The family member who asked not to be named explained: 'She's just trying to get through it and hoping for it all to die down.
'It really felt a lot like Christine was the one called to the principal's office to give an account of something and just threw her under the bus. You know, just reached for a name.'
...
Speaking in her defense Keyser's loved one noted: 'I think it's quite convenient that she named the person who is frankly probably the least physically capable of all of them to stand up and be subjected to questioning or give her account.'
Ford's testimony about her "friend."

In her testimony, Blasey casually insinuated a falsehood, that her friend was having brain problems, while pretending to be only concerned about her "health challenges." She could have said something like, "Well, she's having back and neck problems. Maybe she's tired from that and her memory isn't sharp." Which would be a honest admission of the message she was trying to pump out. Instead, she implied it sneakily. Pretending to be oh-so-innocently worrying about her friend's health while sticking the "Leland is too brain-damaged to remember" dagger in her back.
That's not a strong indicator that she is honest about other things. Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus, as DaNang Dick said. Or, "if you say 7 or 8 things that are very likely but not quite certain to be lies, it's essentially certain that at least one of them is a lie," as Nate Silver likes to put it.
And then after all this, Ford has her FBI agent muscle, McLean, lean on her. "Right-wing Republican rape apologists are using you to destroy your old friend. But no pressure, no pressure."
