No worries, a few years later they formed their Communist Party, and it lasted until 1998. Central and South America over the past one hundred years is a story of failed socialism, various opportunistic dictators, drug cartels, etc. I don't have a clue how the current supposed government would be classified in terms of the definitions of production and whatnot, etc. Do they even know? Those technicalities are quite beside the point. Can such labels be applied to completely broken systems with no consistency whatsoever that change every other year? One of the annoying things about talking with leftists is that nothing is leftist. They never acknowledge left wing thinking to be the root naïve causes behind so many dysfunctional systems. Whether Guatemala or Horduras is technically left wing right now today, or whether it simply has never recovered from the left wing scourge that left the place in ruins and ruled until less than a generation ago, what's the difference?

This article is from 1947 talking about what had happened since three years prior. A rather thin slice of information with which to understand the last hundred years.

The first link is about school elections in the city of San Francisco because a third of the students there are from non-native families.

The second link discusses only local elections in select towns:

"The mayor and City Council are not deciding national policy. We make decisions about trash pickup, snow removal and equipment for the parks," College Park Councilwoman Christine Nagle told The New York Times in August. "We have shared concerns with our neighbors regardless of whether they are U.S. citizens."

So maybe it is that black and white. Undocumented immigrants do not vote in Presidential elections.
