Megamillions should sue CNN

Post by _DoubtingThomas »

CNN's Christine Romans tells you your chances of winning the $1.6 billion jackpot, which is less than your chances of getting struck by lighting or dying in an asteroid strike.

You really can't make ______ up on national TV.

What are the odds of each of these events, DT?

CNN is right about the lighting strike, but not about the asteroid strike. Nobody knows what are the odds of getting killed by an asteroid.

That doesn't sound like a legit legal cause...especially in the context of OP....and especially since "hurt business" is likely unproven at this point.

Lindley Johnson, NASA’s planetary defense officer, said in an email that a death by meteorite impact was so rare that one has never been scientifically confirmed in recorded history. “There have been reports of injuries, but even those were extremely rare before the Chelyabinsk event three years ago,” he said, referring to a 2013 episode in Russia.

If you googled, you found the estimated odds, DT. Why won’t you just fess up to the estimate?

Google is not a research study. How many people died from an asteroid strike last year? and how many people won the jackpot?
