I don't think I'm exaggerating on this. I'm pretty sure Kevin believes that anyone who wants the southern border enforced is a racist. In your view EAllusion, enforcing the southern border is a cruel and racist act. I have never seen you nor Kevin say anything about enforcing the southern border other than to say that doing so is a morally reprehensible racist and xenophobic act.

This bears no connection to reality whatsoever. The closest point of contact I can find is you interpreting any disagreement with methods of "enforcing the border" or extremely strict immigration limits as not wanting to "enforce the border" followed by generalizing any example of criticizing xenophobic/racist anti-immigration motives to any conceivable policy that limits immigration in any way.

Maybe your position is that we can have border in theory, but when caravans come and push comes to shove, we have to let them all in. Since it benefits the economy so much the only reason anyone would ever want to enforce the border is because he's racist.

On the other hand, Ajax, you have often made it abundantly clear that, in your case, at least, your support of Trump is based to a significant degree by your own racist views, as is your view on immigration in general, whether illegal or not.

I honestly don't think Trump personally cares about boarder security or illegal immigration. I think he exploits those two issues for two reasons.

First and foremost it is a hot button issue that Trump tries to keep front and center because he can use it to cover a lot or other stuff going wrong in the country. Crime rates are up so blame illegals, unemployment is up so blame illegals, the Republicans lost an election so blame illegals and so on. It's a boogey man out there that Trump can make his supports feel are to blame for a lot of stuff for which he can convince these ignorant supporters that he actually is the only one who cares and can do something about all those issues. He doesn't care and he really can't do anything about it. Like Joseph Smith, Trump will convince the rubes that he really is the second coming of Jesus here to save them from something, a something he himself is creating. It would not surprise me at all that Trump would be open to being crowned king.

Secondly Trump wants some sort of physical edifice that he can point to and for which he can claim responsibility. If we build this ridiculous wall, it won't limit illegal immigration, all it will do is allow Trump to point to it and claim credit for its existence. In other words he wants his own personal Mount Rushmore.

If you want to see how Joseph Smith saw himself in Nauvoo, look no further than Trump. For Joseph it was a temple, for Trump it is a wall.
