Re: Rules of Patheos: Midgley appears to violate TOS 10x
I think I've uncovered what's going on here with Mr. Midgley. He's extremely intimidated by the academic achievements of Professor Lemming and Dr. Dre and Dr. Dreamboat, etc, and to have these accomplished scholars up-voting people critical of his favorite sect of Brighamite Mormonism? That's been tough on him. Well, we already knew that. But consider, that on a solid post from Shades or Dr. OMG or Gemli, we get ten to twelve up-votes from these distinguished Phds. This has driven Mr. Midgley right to the edge of insanity -- so much so, that he invented the FAIR conference happenings, saying that at least "a dozen" scholars at this "academic conference" came up to him personally in order to, essentially, "down-vote" Gemli. In other words, the minimum number of Phds that he invented in his tale equaled the maximum number of Phds that up-vote the critics on SeN! Psychologically, he's inventing a reality that offsets the credibility of the critics on SeN. This is stunning. But since his tale of the "academic conference" fell on deaf ears, the critics have just laughed at him, but the apologists aren't necessarily rallying behind him either, the horrible truth of the credibility of Dr. Shades, Dr. OMG, Gemli, Billy Shears, Fred Kratz, Dr. Detroit (wherever he is -- perhaps having a drink with Brad Anderson?) as ratified by a dozen real-world Phds of all disciplines is eating him alive with anger. And so now he's really desperate, and moving in to the realm of threats.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Midgley seems to have been upset by all these non-Mormon posters, but the posts that have upset Midgley so are all just comments on Daniel Peterson's blog. Nothing strongly anti-Mormon has appeared there. If these mild criticisms have made Midgley so furious then I think he must have been isolated in a Mormon bubble all his life.

Louis Midgley Nero's Fiddle 18 minutes ago
I am often though not always troubled by those posting under handle, but I am charmed by Nero's Fiddle. As the story goes, Nero fiddled while Rome burned. But he can be forgive, since he did not know that he fiddled, nor that Rome burned. Has anyone else actually met someone like that. One or two have turned up on Dan's blog. Relax, I don't intend to name names. But I urge everyone to keep an eye out, as the saying goes. We should, we are told, strive to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves. A truly difficult assignment that i have failed to complete. I have yet to figure out if the wise part or the harmless part is the most difficult part of this assignment.

Don't worry Midge. Its definitely the "wise" part. You regularly set out to harm others with your rude, calloused insensitivity, but there is seldom any wisdom in your boring attacks.

What the hell? Is Midgely serious? Peterson's blog is a patty-cake, surface only, all too frequently plagiarized bit of ephemeral nonsense. Why would anyone suppose avatars must be real? Midgley has lost his tiny little mind. Maybe he can go over to never-neverland and harass Peter Pan for not really knowing how to fly.

That seems to be a mopologist attribute- disagreement with anything even close to related to their religion is taken as a personal slur. Not really logical, but there you have it. How professionals can maintain this position is beyond me.

Louis Midgley wrote:"Begone! Ye're exit is long overdue!" Shall we call for a vote? Keep in mind that only faithful Latter-day Saints are properly qualified to vote.
Wonder if Patheos would accept a Sic et Non policy of requiring a Temple recommend to post on that blog? The trouble with that idea is it would set a precedence to vote off LDS members who show deviation from limited geography hypothesis.

Midgley is threatening a new poster with in real life consequences, if he doesn’t delete his negative comments about a paper midgley wrote:
And of course, Peterson allows this harassment.
Louis Midgley >> Dr. Moore
Fake Dr. Moore: Your remarks about my essay demonstrate that you know exactly nothing about both historical studies and biographies. And you missed my extended demonstration that every word Grant Palmer wrote about "Der goldne Topf," which is the only original criticism of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon in the dreadful book, is pure bunk. If you think that you can salvage that argument in Palmer's book, good luck.
Would you care to explain why you comment at "Dr. Moore," while also clearly indicating that you are merely beginning to study for a PhD in some area unrelated to both biographies and intellectual history?
I trust that you have, by posting what you have on Dan's blog, destroyed any hopes you have for an academic career, if your remarks become known. My advice is that it would be prudent for you right now to delete everything you have posted on Dan's blog.

And of course, Peterson allows this harassment.
