What do you care about the Iraq war anyway DT? Heart disease, after all, is a bigger problem.
I was answering Jersey Girl's question. But you are right heart disease is a bigger problem.

Biden is a corporatist and he won't do much for US workers. But I guess we should forget about it and be very happy that Biden is going to give us a female VP because nothing else matters. It will be a historic moment.

Biden promised that nothing is going to change.
So voting for the incumbent is a better idea if you're looking for change?

Trump drove the economy into the ground by bungling (and continuing) his response to the pandemic. If you want change, Trump is your political enemy.

Unemployment was at record lows in the 3's after eight years of Obama/Biden and you're primary concern is Biden won't do much for American workers?

I have to ask myself whether this guy is an idiot or a troll.

I mean "Gosh, should I vote Biden or Trump? That's a really tough decision. I get the stuff about Trump being a mendacious and incompetent narcissist whose only aim is to do whatever increases the power and wealth of himself and his family, but maybe Biden has some negative points against him, so I just don't know." At best, a previous administration's "economy" is influential for the first, maybe, second financial quarter after their exodus.
But yeah, we get ya - its Obama's, it's Trump's, er now Obama's again, now Trump's....andnnnnnd...now Obama's.

It's not that complicated. DT wanted Yang because of one thing: UBI. Everything else was spin. Then he wanted Sanders because free healthcare and college plus higher minimum wages are going to directly benefit DT.

Don't support UBI? Are looking for solutions to college costs and healthcare that don't reduce to "free"? Put all of these people in a bin as all the same.

DT seems to also have an underlying fear of being drafted into a war. He's said things over the years that suggest he liked Trump over Hillary due to this issue alone.

He's also misogynistic. He reacts negatively, sometimes subtly and sometimes overtly, to the idea of having a woman President. He doesn't get the abortion debate at all. His view of the judicial system is akin to how criminals view it. He isn't interested in jurisprudence. He thinks the Supreme Court is harmful and hasn't expressed a reasonable view of their role at any point on this board despite driving multiple threads on the subject.

Most of the above is why I've suggested he's really a middle aged conservative Mormon troll. The simplicity is easier to attribute to a troll acting in the way they might imagine a young budding atheist progressive thinks. I have reasons to accept he is who he says he is. But either way, there doesn't seem to be much point in trying to persuade him his views on Biden are irrational. They are as rational as can be if ones politics is reduced down to subsistence and limited belief one can't do anything to achieve a life they also desperately seem to desire...but only if it happens to them. So, what can you do other than point it out? Rather than try to change his politics it would probably be more helpful to help him change is perspective and circumstances. Now, that's also proven to be a bit of a tread mill but at least it is built on good intentions.

Trump's neglect on Covid gave DT a few weeks off. I doubt it's a particularly concerning issue to him.

Keep it simple. And know he isn't going to change his mind.

If Biden gets elected the markets will react negatively. There is too big of a separation currently between prices and value. Much of the price gap has been built on trying to be in early in the benefits of full Republican control followed by clear pushes by Trump to lean on the Fed, reduce regulation, feed stock inflation through buy backs paid for with tax cuts, and push other activities that could be good for profits. While part of the economy, that's not the economy as a whole. In fact, the markets having floated above the insanity of the current crisis is probably in part an indicator the vibe isn't for an inevitable Biden victory. The markets will signal when they think Trump really is down for the count. This last week was rocky as his numbers looked worse than ever before but they aren't entirely buying it just yet.

I'd expect to see the market drop in November. But also expect to see better alignment between Wall Street and Main Street.

The big question is what happens when our disaster of a debt crisis actually becomes news? I'm guessing we will find Republicans returning to deficit hawk status again once they aren't signing the checks...literally in Trump's case.
