Internet accuses Jared Kushner of ‘genocide’ and ‘murder’ over report huge testing plan was nixed to hurt blue states

A stunning Vanity Fair exposé revealing the Trump administration actually spent months creating a nationwide testing program, only to quietly kill it because they thought the coronavirus would be contained to blue states and have minimal effect on red states is getting attention.

Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior advisor, was responsible for creating the program and for the decision to kill it – reportedly on the grounds it would be politically advantageous for Trump to blame Democratic governors for high coronavirus cases, and presumably, deaths.

“The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert.

“It was very clear that Jared was ultimately the decision maker as to what [plan] was going to come out,” the expert added.

On social media many are furious. Some are calling for Kushner’s resignation, some are accusing Kushner of murder or even genocide, and others are demanding his prosecution.

“The refusal to try it and the proof that it was politically-motivated means this was a crime against Americans and humanity,” author, political commentator, and associate professor Jared Yates Sexton says, adding: “Let’s call it what it is and stop playing around. Genocide. This is genocide.”

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) tweets: “Jared Kushner is more than incompetent – he’s complicit. He was willing to let Americans die in Democratic-led states because it might help his father-in-law’s politics. In any other administration, Jared Kushner would be investigated and fired.”

For this alone, Kushner, Trump, Pence and anyone else in Trump's administration who went along with this decision deserve to be prosecuted for high treason and murder and spend the rest of their lives in Prison!

They apparently realized they had to initiate the testing program after all when it became inescapably obvious that Red states would suffer greatly too.

I'd like to see this 'secret plan', the one the journalist said she got ahold of, in order to ascertain how true the charges against Kushner are. Like Honor, I tend to believe the White House is just one massive schizoid administration with a pathological affinity for damned things up rather than just being overtly evil.

Reasonable points, honor. It may well be true that this horrific SNAFU was mainly due to stupidity and incompetence. We have certainly seen abundant examples of that by Trump and his toadies, but we have also seen abundant examples of Trump's sheer malice and vindictiveness. The stupidity and incompetence part certainly seems to be true, though, regardless of the actual degree of malice involved. I have little doubt that both actual malice and incompetence were involved, for which Trump and his toadies ought to be held accountable. Nor do I doubt that what was always a factor in their calculous was how best to hurt, discredit and blame progressive Democrats, while trying to tilt the playing field to preferentially favor and enrich themselves, while deflecting attention from their own failures.

How stupid is it really to do what's politically necessary to win reelection? A lot of thought, time and effort was put into this strategy and death tolls were understood. I doubt it can be chalked up as an innocent goof.

Blaming Blue state governors was part of the script early on, but now that's blown up in their faces because the Blue states that were struggling have managed the virus quite well since, and now Red States are hurting with no indication that they can do what NY and New Jersey did to get the curve down.

Blaming Blue state governors was part of the script early on, but now that's blown up in their faces because the Blue states that were struggling have managed the virus quite well since, and now Red States are hurting with no indication that they can do what New York and New Jersey did to get the curve down.

California, too, was doing a commendable job of "bending the curve", until the Memorial day crowds and the subsequent overly optimistic and too rapid opening up of the economy and relaxing the restrictions. Hopefully the current efforts to re-impose and strengthen restrictions will bend that curve back down again. Overall, the 7 day trend for daily new cases is flat for California, with only 13 of its 58 counties trending upward, 24 trending downwards, and 21 trending flat. Hopefully that will soon improve. Though California has the most confirmed cases of any state, because its population is so large, it still barely cracks the top 20 (if even that) as far as number of confirmed cases per capita.

My own county (according to its own, local covid-19 dashboard) has had a total of 6 fatalities, since the pandemic began, 13 new cases confirmed just yesterday (of which 9 are asymptomatic), 395 recovered cases, and 367 still active cases, and the current number hospitalized just dropped to 10. It could definitely be a lot worse than it is, and hopefully won't get significantly worse before continuing to get better.

A gang of unqualified people acting like they know what they are doing can waste a lot of time, create a lot of BS, and then as soon as it requires actually doing things find out just how over their heads they were the entire time. Then try to walk away and pretend it didn't happen. Is that what happened here? Don't know. But incompetence is a major component of the story already.

The thing is, that's incredibly damning. As a voter, I view incompetence and the inability to acknowledge it as fatal flaws in this White House. And it also explains why the Trump's wouldn't take an opportunity to show how great they are at doing things. Do you honestly think Trump and Jared would table a solid plan they could peacock over? Seems out of character. Realizing their plan sucked and trying to quietly sweep it under the rug? Very much in character. Trying to put a spin on why they swept it under the rug after a visible amount of effort? Also in character.

Trump doesn't play 2D chess, let alone 4D political gamesmanship. He thinks naming animals is hard. You think this mind and his born-on-third SIL came up with a good national testing program but then tabled it because he calculated it would benefit the wrong people if he did too good of a job? Or, it turned out they couldn't actually put together a good plan and then pretended like it never happened? I know which of those seems more likely to me. If there is more information that comes out and shows they did create a good program but then dropped it, I'll reevaluate.

How stupid would you need to be as a national leader to let things go wrong in a state because it voted blue (or red, for that matter)? It's as though this idiot doesn't understand that it only speaks to that state's voting majority. There are still large portions of his base in those states.

I swear there will be a day where calling someone a Trump will be synonymous with calling them stupid.
