I'd be game. Of course that still only skews the favor even more towards RFM's side, somehow.

Shoot. You never accused Bill of salacious behavior, have you? Maybe he'd debate you. So you're saying your hate for the man stems from a minor sounding disagreement on MDDB?BIll Reel is a freaking moron and would never do well in a debate. I remember when Bill contended he had a 162 IQ as a result of an on-line test he took, and when I ridiculed him he got me threadbanned at MDDB. Reel can't read; he doesn't read. Why is BIll Reel involved? Consig -- you need to step up. I'd volunteer to be your second but I'd end up siding with them other morons and against you except with respect to the Book of Abraham stuff.
I like the idea of you sitting on his side and arguing with him. I'm guessing you'd only make RFM's case even stronger.

Re: Is it true Bill Reel backed out of the upcoming debate with Midnight Mormons?
I arranged for Jim Bennett to be moderator.
They wanted Shawn McCraney. I said okay.
I wanted a panel to ask questions like a presidential debate. They wanted to crowd source questions beforehand and have Shawn ask them. I said okay.
They then wanted me to have more people on my side, and especially Bill Reel.
Here I did not agree. I said I had acceded to their first two changes but not this one.
The make-up of my team is my business and the make-up of their team is their business.
They seemed satisfied with that.
This was all discussed between the four of us last Saturday afternoon.
I hope they are not going to cavil about team make-up again after I thought we had laid the issue to rest.

They would be stupid to agree to a 3 on 1 debate. People naturally root for the underdog and that's exactly what RFM is going for. Hey! He's a lawyer, so I don't blame him for trying to set up Midnight Mormons and make them look like the bullies before anyone even steps foot on the stage! It's a brilliant tactic and if Midnight Mormons fall for it they're idiots. Equal numbers on both sides is the only fair way to have a debate.consiglieri wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:37 pmI arranged for Jim Bennett to be moderator.

Your reasoning seems exactly backwards here. I seriously doubt that anyone will look at RFM as an underdog. I suspect that their real fear is RFM will make them look like fools all by himself and they won't have some ridiculous way to wiggle out of that. There is exactly nothing that tells me those three collectively, let alone individually, have a sliver of the knowledge and skills of RFM. They are, quite bluntly, all noise and no substance.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:58 pmThey would be stupid to agree to a 3 on 1 debate. I watched their video. Sounds like they are really going to push to change things up to me. They don't like the 3 on 1 and think without Bill it's kind of a waste. They seem upset the situation changed, as they saw it. I'm guessing Cardon in particular will back out and the wibeck kid will likely follow if that happens. Kwaku, though, rechallenged Bill and said he'd never back out of anything. It may get down to kwaku and rfm answering questions at a weird Christian church.
Can't wait.
Can't wait.

We have discussed this on two separate phone calls; the first a month ago and the second last Saturday.
They understood and agreed that I would have just me on my team
I hope they are not trying to rewrite history.

I'll go with you. But I'll contract to not say anything beyond pleasantries.consiglieri wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 10:50 pmWe have discussed this on two separate phone calls; the first a month ago and the second last Saturday.

They're totally trying to rewrite history. First, they accuse Bill Reel of marital infidelity (I didn't watch that, just read it on here, but I did watch them try to claim that you supported NNN filming pornography in the temple, because you responded to "two women having sex!" with an impish smile and an obviously tongue-in-cheek, "What's wrong with that?").consiglieri wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 10:50 pmWe have discussed this on two separate phone calls; the first a month ago and the second last Saturday.

So, first they pull their standard marital infidelity accusation, since they've learned, Pavlov-style, that it gets a reaction.
Bill withdraws from the debate. Understandably, I would say.
And now they just can't debate three-on-one? Even after insisting that they be able to review the questions in advance?
Nope, you were the one proposing a real debate: A panel asking questions that the participants cannot review in advance, a neutral moderator (one with no connection to Mormonism at all, but skilled in debate moderation would be even more ideal), and....well, actually, I think the teams should be equal in size. But this isn't a formal debate and you had indicated that you were fine with three-to-one.
They're TOTALLY chickening out and trying to rewrite history. Call their bluff!! Find two more people! I nominate Kishkumen.
Doesn't really matter who you pick anyway. They're just going to find some other reason to back out and then lie about it, because they know they're going to get their asses handed to them. So, call their bluff and propose two more people for your team.
If they were really that concerned with team size being equal, they could choose their strongest opponent and just make it one-on-one. Witbeck would be their best choice. Kwaku's an idiot and Cardon is a douche-bro with a temper. Witbeck would still lose on the merits, but he would cut the most sympathetic figure.
Hell, debate Jim Bennett! He was a good idea for moderator, but he just might agree to a debate, and he would certainly be more intelligent and gentlemanly than any of those assholes, who, ultimately, will just accuse you of marital infidelity because they've learned it gets a response out of people and it's a reliable reputation-buster.

But will the contract be legally enforceable?

Of course not. See, you are eminently qualified for these lightweights. But Cardon talks a good game and may score the psychological victory.consiglieri wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 11:49 pmBought Yahoo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 11:05 pm
