You were also serious. It wasn't a joke until Jan. 7.

You must not have watched the video. Rittenhouse was clearly under attack and was defending himself.
Right. And if I break into someone's house trying to rob them, and the owner attacks me, I can just kill them in self-defense.
He was in public, not private.
Let's simply forget about the fact that it was unlawful for me to be there in the first place.
Being in some place unlawfully doesn't justify the death penalty at the hands of a mob.

Suppose somebody brings a gun to a public mall and aims, fires, and misses an innocent shopper.

Bystanders rush him in an uncoordinated attempt to stop him. Somebody from the crowd yells "kill him." It's an open carry state and another guy puts his hand on his holstered piece.

Does the shooter have a right to shoot anyone and anyone coming at him in order to escape?

If this hypothetical were to hypothetically happen on Mars what would be the trajectory of the bullet?

Are you suggesting that any of your hypothetical conditions apply to an actual event? If so, could you restate the question using actual events?

the hypothetical is hypothetical only.

It is not intended to represent what happened with Rittenhouse.

What is a minor doing crossing state lines and wielding a semi-automatic assault rifle doing in this situation? Un-freaking-believable that ANYONE seeks to justify minors engaging in violent vigilantism.

What is an assault rifle? A black one? If it was brown would it be an assault rifle or just a rifle?

Kish, who fired first?

If you think that 17 year old kids should go around with deadly weapons as vigilantes or as self-appointed security forces, then there is nothing to talk about on this one. There simply is no justification for it.
