Yes, we know that Kyle Rittenhouse was in a place he shouldn't have been. If he hadn't been there, the rioters wouldn't have been shot.
But we seem to be forgetting that the rioters were in a place THEY shouldn't have been, either. If THEY hadn't been there, they wouldn't have been shot.
If someone illegally crosses state lines with a firearm, does that person magically forfeit his or her right to self-defense?
Magically?
If a person crosses state lines with a firearm and intent, the content of that intent becomes a focal question when the outcome is people being shot and killed. That's a matter for the courts.
I maintain the subject should be a rally point for advocates of responsible gun ownership and those concerned with what transpired.

Yep!
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
Shades can't wrap his mind around the fact that Rittenhouse is the ONLY reason people died that night. Rioters were rioting over cops murdering black people, but they weren't killing anyone that night. They could have killed Rittenhouse if they truly wanted to. There is no reason why someone couldn't have shot him from a distance had that been their intention, but it was clear they just wanted to disarm him because they saw him for what he was. A cold blooded psychopath who was only there to kill.

Interesting thought. I find it a lot more frightening to see him as a person looking for purpose who was given a very bad one. This is more frightening because it is also so pervasive. People are killing to make their lives meaningful in some way. They lack meaning, and this is a shortcut to finding it. THAT terrifies me. Cold-blooded psychopath is a lot less frightening.

Well that last part was hyperbole to trigger a response from Doc

Perhaps Shades can't wrap his head around that fact because it is not a fact. There is that. I can't wrap my head around the fact that that the New York Yankees are in the World Series this year.
I hate it when my sock puppets are so damn good that the point is missed. The cops did not murder a black person in Kenosha. Rioters were indeed rioting, again. Shooting at someone to disarm them is some serious made for TV stuff.
Okay. next time I post as K. Graham and say the most ridiculous crap ever, please understand it is not serious, I am just being a cartoon puppet. Sheesh.

How is it that the board Cons are so consistently wrong, so egregiously confident in their own wrongness, that they’ve become impervious to reality? This ignorant hubris is what it is, and there’s no changing this pattern of behavior as it spreads beyond their personal failings to the body politic. Crazy.
