It's a shame that the debate between Consig and Midnight Mormons has passed. It would have been interesting to see MM's reaction to the new policy given their postings showing Dehlin getting attacked with a bat.

I'm just here waiting to hear how the 'Midnight Mormons' turn over a new leaf to be in compliance with the leaders' guidance.

Do you think the More Good Foundation will add it as a rider in their clandestine contract? "No more killing Dehlin in your videos!" "Don't debate anyone beyond the level of Moksha or Why Me!"

This is almost as fun as the 2012 purge.

It’s cute that DCP thinks the church leadership have his back, then he gets blindsided yet again. He’s just a brown shirt, not in the fascist sense but in the expendable goon sense.
I can imagine DCP fashioning himself thusly, “I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That’s all I’d do all day. I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all.”
"I'm not crazy about reality, but it's still the only place to get a decent meal." Groucho Marx
"The truth has no defense against a fool determined to believe a lie." Mark Twain

In the spirit of its instruction to members, will the Church now remove the following racism from its own scriptures?
21 And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.

If the Church is not prepared to practice what it is now preaching, why should members listen?

Hi Daniel! I just want you to know that through the power of the internet, I searched through a couple decades of your posts in about 5 minutes.

No my friend, you are not worth more than that of my time

I am heartened that LDS leaders are taking action on this problem. And the changes regarding music are positive too! Will they allow Latin to be sung, too?

I am also glad to see that DCP feels for his friend’s experience being attacked in the Comments section. I am not surprised that he does not see his role in fostering negative online interactions while Lou Midgley litters SeN with slams on gemli and others.
I am heartened as well. It was a pleasant surprise. Maybe the Latin will come as well. Baby steps.

Is it just me or do others ask the obvious question... what is an inappropriate musical instrument?! They harp on appropriate, but that literally makes no sense.

I think this is a vestige left over from the Campbellite movement. It is a very fierce debate in the Church of Christ today if musical instruments should even be tolerated at church.

No wonder the kids rather attend concerts than church... I wonder if God will actually ever let the churches "get it"...
