Sometime after 800 B.C. The lost tribes of Israel gave away much of their identity as a group and were unable to keep the Hebrew language. But much of their culture continued among them and the peoples they came in contact with as Custom.

What Elizabeth leaves out about the video to which she attempted to link is that it is a production of the British-Israel World Federation. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British ... Federation. The organization promotes the pseudohistorical claim that the people of the British Isles are the direct descendants of the lost tribes of Israel. British Idealism gave birth to the Christian Identity movement, which you might recall from our visit front the rabidly anti-Semitic Smokey some time back. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Identity
Christian Identity is nasty stuff, claiming that Jews and POCs are literal descendants of Cain and therefore cursed. Or in extreme versions that they are literally non-human. It kinda explains Elizabeth’s affinity for Hitler.
he/him When a Religion is good, I conceive that it will support itself; and when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support, so that its Professors are oblig’d to call for the help of the Civil Power, ’tis a Sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.
Whether you like it or not, the fact and the reality is that there were degrees of righteousness in our pre-mortal existence which determined which race we were born into in mortality.
In addition, our thoughts and actions in this mortality will also determine our place as we progress further in the Eternities.

Whether you like it or not, you’ve latched onto folklore to justify your racist beliefs.

I suspect you are right, that this is still a belief in the Church, although officially for PR purposes it is not mentioned due to its racial offensiveness in the 21st Century. However, it seems fair to let prospective African converts to the Church know about the existence of this school of LDS thought.
