And your contribution to a discussion about Mormonism is what, exactly?

Seriously, these pointless personal vendetta threads do not belong in this main forum. They also violate multiple board rules, specifically UR 7 and UR 9.
I tend to agree, Dr Moore. Mormonism is about religious belief and practice. This thread is not about Mormonism. It doesn't belong here. I would just as well see all these threads moved so we can focus on Mormonism in this forum like we are supposed to do. It's gotten out of hand. All it takes now is a moderator to move the threads downfield somewhere else.

F the Mormon/exmormon women, their voices don't matter. Now hide this thread so we can get ack to bashing D Peterson. That's essentially what you're saying, correct?

I think very little of a list including wannabe celebrities, celebrity activists, life coaches, and what have you claiming that John is unsafe. I would love to see the evidence that KK and K Money felt unsafe around John Dehlin. But that’s the beautiful thing about saying you “feel” unsafe, it doesn’t require evidence or anything more than a vague emotional claim. This silly letter oozes a lack of credibility. It’s unfortunate, as I am sure that there is a lot about this group of capable and talented women to respect. It would be great to see them be at their best instead of having this garbage shoved in my face. It’s nothing that makes ANYONE look good.

Believe evidence.

Here's a video I watched yesterday, never knew so many Mormon/Exmormon women are accusing John of being such a major A-hole! Would love to know what other board members think. 19 Mormon/Exmormon Women!
Accusing him of being an a-hole?

Will you just leave us alone if we concede the point?
Bashing Mormon celebrity D Peterson good. Bashing Exmormon celebrity J Dehlin bad. I get it I get it. How many women have accused D Peterson of acting inappropriately?

No that is not what I said and that is not what I think.

I feel certain threads that have little if anything to do with Mormon doctrine and practice belong in a different forum such as Paradise. Somewhere else.

With that said, I also feel the same way about Peterson threads that have little or anything to do with Mormon doctrine and practice. Send them to Paradise too or make a special folder in that forum devoted specifically to bashing Peterson.

Please explain how this thread isn't about Mormonism.

You started a thread about the personal lives and adventures of certain characters who don't get along very well.

Take it to Paradise where you can talk about people and all the drama and problems in their lives.

That's a simple fix. I feel this forum is best suited to talk about Mormon doctrine and practice. I don't want to talk about the drama going on in people's lives.

This thread has everything to do with Mormonism and especially the hypocrisy found within exmormonism.

Your thread is about the personal lives and misfortunes/fortunes of people who happen to be members of the Mormon church. It's about drama going on in their lives.

Look, if you don't agree, that's fine. I can just switch the channel and not put your stupid show on! Simple as that. I'm not interested in your drama show here in a forum where I enjoy discussing Mormon doctrine and practice.

So, that's that.

I think you are grossly oversimplifying. Go ahead and criticize John Dehlin all you like. Try to find something interesting to criticize him for. I think that, for the most part, people are tired of being gaslit by accusers of John Dehlin who have no evidence. Most of these people barely even know John Dehlin, and a portion of them have not even met him. Yet they sign this document, and you bring it here as though we should really dig into this.

I do appreciate you bringing John Dehlin here to tell his side of the story, which leaves us exactly where we were before.

John Dehlin was wrong in his relationship with Rosebud.

Open Stories Foundation was too small to meet the statutory requirements to pursue the matter legally.

I have not seen evidence of other instances of John acting in a way that comes anywhere close to the Rosebud thing. I have seen evidence of disgruntled employees going after John when they were disappointed in their ambitions.

I am always open to being shown otherwise.

My bottom line on this whole thing is the following, until EVIDENCE is produced that changes my mind:

John Dehlin made himself vulnerable by engaging in an inappropriate affair further involving a verbal agreement that was compromising on its face, and that left him vulnerable to the attacks of others. He subsequently was MeTooed as though he were Harvey Weinstein, when the facts thus far show nothing of the kind. The goal here is to destroy John's business or get him replaced with someone who is not a "cisgendered white male."

DCP, on the other hand, is an LDS apologist who reads this board and takes jabs at it from his safe space blog. I can see why people continue to hit back.
