There is no official or contemporary documentation that definitively proves or disproves whether Joseph Smith was married to Fanny Alger.

Oliver Cowdery, one of the Three Witnesses to the Book of Mormon, wrote a letter to his brother Warren in 1838, in which he accused Joseph Smith of adultery with Fanny Alger. Cowdery wrote that "what a thing to be talked of by a Prophet!"
Yes, the contemporary source states it was adultery and not a marriage.
I believe they are correct.

The so-called "Nancy Rigdon letter" was reportedly found among the papers of Willard Richards, a close associate of Joseph Smith, after his death in 1854. However, the original letter has never been found, and the only known copy was reproduced by John C. Bennett, a former member of the LDS Church who was excommunicated in 1842 for alleged immoral behavior.
The original letter was supposedly dictated by Joseph to Willard Richards and then Richards delivered it to Nancy Rigdon.
So, it very well could be the original that was found in Richard's papers in 1854 or Richards made a copy.
How did Bennett get a copy?

There is a diary entry by Eliza R. Snow from 1842 that some have interpreted as a possible reference to Joseph Smith's relationship with Fanny Alger. In the entry, Snow wrote:

"(I) learned that Br Joseph had been sealed to Louis B[l]eman. This was too much for me and I spoke to Br Joseph about it. He said it was true - that the Lord had given him to me and although I was his lawful wife, - he had married me for time and eternity - not for eternity alone - at the same time if I would not build him up he would cut me off from him &c. - I felt that it was too much and told him so and left him."
That doesn't make much sense (the way it's written is odd).
Can you please provide a source (link) for this?

You could just as well say their is no official or contemporary documentation that definitively DISPROVES that George Washington was NOT married to 1,000 women or concubines. Therefore, the question remains ever open.

Until Terminator 2.

I’ve heard a lot of companies are blocking chatgpt because they’re worried about how much the ghost in the box will remember, can’t control risk of company secrets leaking into OpenAI.

That never occurred to me. Is that a legitimate concern?

Personally I'd be more worried that everyone would realize middle managers could be subbed out for chat bots with little to no impact.

Yes, huge concern. Look up “DLP” or data loss prevention. It’s a massive problem, billions spent each year to monitor every byte of data egressed from company machines. Even the encrypted stuff. Anything that can’t be inspected and controlled with rules, is blocked. Standard CISO practice.
