We're talking about $130k payment in porn star hush money which Bragg wants to say but can't quite say was to influence information voters had access to in a federal election but can't quite say that because he has no jurisdiction over federal elections.
That was $130k to Stormy Daniels. Try again. It isn't the only hush money involved. There were other people he paid off, and one of them got paid off for a rumor. That smacks of desperation. Not to mention he violated state election laws. Try again with an understanding that the DA isn't only relying on federal election law for the charges. Legal experts agree that this is probably the weakest of many cases Trump is about to face, yet they agree it's a pretty solid case.

This is a cult.

A Trump supporter actually wrote a book called "President Donald J. Trump, The Son of Man - The Christ". Mike Pence is Judas, by the way. It is sold at his rallies. Of course the Trump campaign doesn't endorse or condemn it. Still, it is another example of how he's worshiped. I remember Obama supporters ridiculed by conservatives as worshiping a false messiah. He never claimed he was. His supporters never claimed he was. Trump supporters carry his flag (literally) and believe he will create Zion in the US.
Trump also lied to NY state tax collectors by classifying a personal expense as a deductible business legal expense. Obviously he is not in the business of producing pornography, so this was a false business record and tax evasion.

Jon Stewart Stops By for Trump's Arraignment Day | The Daily Show

This is a must watch episode! Jon Stewart in the guise of Obi-Wan Kenobi shows up to have a hilarious dialogue with Roy Wood Jr. about Trump's Arraignment Day and the events associated with it. The funniest line in the dialogue was Roy's comment that if and when Trump shows up for arraignment in Georgia for election fraud, he hopes they make him cough twice. Watch to see what he meant by that.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Here's a link to a Twitter thread with two charts that illustrate the NY case against Trump. https://Twitter.com/AshaRangappa_/statu ... 3379957763

I don't think it matters that NY doesn't have jurisdiction to try federal election law crimes. The NY statutes don't require proof that the crime was committed, just intent. Even so, Bragg doesn't need to rely on federal election law violations at all.

When a Religion is good, I conceive that it will support itself; and when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support, so that its Professors are oblig’d to call for the help of the Civil Power, ’tis a Sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.

Of course it doesn't matter that NY doesn't have durisdiction to try federal election law crimes. The only thing that really matters when it comes to the law in the USA is politics, which side you're on, and which side the judge and jury are on.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Trump claims people were crying at his arraignment.

I'm guessing tears of joy and/or laughter.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

LOL he is such a pathetic joke. No one was crying. He is so pathetic.

Meanwhile, Jim Jordon is being sued for violating the 10th amendment and trying to interfere with Bragg's indictment of Trump.

Oh gee look, another debunked lie.

Trump's tale about Manhattan court workers crying and apologizing at his arraignment isn't true, source says
You may be surprised to learn that none of that happened, at least according to a law enforcement source who spoke with Yahoo News' Michael Isikoff. Trump's story is "absolute BS," the official said. "There were zero people crying. There were zero people saying 'I'm sorry.'" In fact, Trump barely interacted with anybody at the courthouse other than his lawyers, Secret Service detail, and a handful of district attorney employees, the official said, and the only hiccup was when Trump's fingers had to be moistened with lotion because they were too dry to fingerprint.

Along with sitting through Trump's sobbing story about court workers, Carlson let the former president "prattle on at will" about "the various 'hoax' investigations to which he'd been subjected and his false assertions about the cease-fire in Afghanistan and the classified documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago by the FBI," Philip Bump writes at The Washington Post. Stephen Colbert's Late Show turned Trump's fawning description of Chinese President Xi Jinping into an '80s hit by Roxette.
