Above the law, above the truth

Post by Nimrod »

Joseph Smith as late as May 26, 1844 denied having more than one "wife" despite the number being north of 30. He and his bro Hyrum abused their governmental authority over the City of Nauvoo to violate free presss, free speech rights of the proprietors of the Nauvoo Expositor for having the audacity to expose Smith and his lies.

For decades after supposedly stopping polygamy in 1890, it was as late as 1943 that one of the Twelve (Richard Lyman) was ex'd for 'unlawful cohabitation.'

In the 21st Century, the church operated 13 shell companies in violation of U.S. securities laws to hide the fact of its vast wealth (it's rainy day fund) from its members due to fears that it would lead to some to stop paying tithing or others suggesting how the vast wealth ought to be used.

These three tent poles of the church's dishonesty--one exemplifying its founding, another mid-term and the third currently--show just how corrupt and inclined as an institution its leaders are willing to deceive even its own members.

But the duped TBMs continue to beat the drum for "the church." Ha ha ha.
Apologists try to shill an explanation to questioning members as though science and reason really explain and buttress their professed faith. It [sic] does not. By definition, faith is the antithesis of science and reason. Apologetics is a further deception by faith peddlers to keep power and influence.

God’s ways are not man’s ways. Milk before meat. Lying for the Lord is noble.

Just look at that Bishop’s grin on the 60 minutes interview. His church could be embezzling millions to the families of wealthy Mormons and he would be secure in the knowledge that because it’s happening in God’s one true church, it is by definition good. He will be blessed for keeping it secret.

The church is true and everything else follows. Meanwhile DCP just posted photos of Interpreter members in Africa. Presumably teaching those members that they should be sending 10 percent of their meager incomes back to Salt Lake so that they can be with their families forever.

This is the crux of the issue - trust. I don’t know why any member would trust the Q15 when they’ve shown they’re comfortable with dishonesty.

Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

Comfortable with dishonesty........a stunningly astute observation, seriously pathetic on their part. And most unfortunately, punishing those who cannot and will not be comfortable with them in that misguided attatude, but go for truth.

Just as egregious is the fact that the 'church' continues to send out missionaries into the world to perpetuate the notion that Joseph Smith created the B of M by translating gold plates with a scribe who jotted it all down when they admitted in their essay on B of M 'translation' back in 2014 that it was basically all a ruse with Smith peering at a rock in a hat and telling a verbal story with no gold plates present for the process. Unfathomable.  :x Add to that the fact that the B of M didn't even resemble scripture originally as it read like a novel - In 1879, Orson Pratt changed how it looked and read when he added chapters and verses to make it look more like the Bible. And then you can add Smith sending two missionaries into Canada to try and sell the copyright to it as proof the whole thing was a ploy for good 'ole Joe to profit from his plagiarized concoction of a giant fairy tale. :x

I’m really interested in county documents and signatures for a marriage. If the wife dies, has right to marry again. Again, need to know if there was a county clerk, if both parties agrees and signed court documents. Does anyone have Joseph’s marriage certificate.
What's faster than a .45 caliber bullet fired from a 1911 A1? The main spring of the gun below the barrel that seems to escape faster when you turn the barrel bushing with a special tool.
